Wow, I really love listening to tastefully done jazz that's about the music and not about egos. The entire group is polished and every note is meaningful. Great bass player too.

First of all the compositions are just perfect fresh and well performed .A new piano voice in JAZZ deserving wider recognition .It is a very emotional and sophisticated album which becomes more expressive with the addition of alto saxophonist STEVE WILSON .It is for sure a remarkable recording for 2008 .

I had listened to a track of Leslie's on the internet and liked immediately what I heard. So 'researched' her quartet a little and then ordered the CD. I was very pleased with the recording! The inside cover notes by Ken Dryden, a jazz music writer/contributor, describe very well her odyssey from the scholastic world to the jazz one and gives an accurate account of her, and her quartet's, musical style. When I first began to listen to her piano I thought it a bit simplistic. But the cover notes describe it perfectly: impressionistic ----- exactly !!. Listening to it with a new vision there, I appreciated her style much/much more --- and then after listening to the CD several more times, respected the whole scene. There are many beautiful rich textures there. She weaves a deep tapestry of sounds and feelings which I believe any jazz lover would admire. Its a CD you can listen to countless times. Plus Steve Wilson on alto/soprano sax ---- excellent musician and I dug his style. There is a lot of emotion there that upon tilting your ear you can hear. With that, I loved the CD and look forward to gleaning from it all that I know Leslie put into it.
