Product Description

Product Description: 1--This round hour meter can be used for tracking time on machinery such as boats, cars, trucks, tractors or any other device where time is used to determine oil change intervals, service requirements or where there is a need to record hours operated. 2---These meters are 100% tested at the factory prior to shipment. They will have from 0.2 to 2.0 hours on them depending on the random quality control test selection process. This is done to insure that a quality meter is being shipped. 3---The timer has a 6 digit display with the least significant digit being 1/10 hour (99999.9) and operates on in put voltages from 6 to 80 Volts DC. 4---The hour meter timing mechanism contains a quartz oscillator which provides a high degree of accuracy. It is designed to withstand vibration and shaking up to 8g and is rated to work between 15 degrees to 132 degrees Farenheit. 5---The hour meter fits in to a 2" round hole and includes an adjustable retrainer clip so that the meter can be mounted on material up to 9/32 inch thick. Meter depth behind the panel is 1.5 inches.

I will definitely buy from these guys again.

I just go this thing a few days ago and just installed it last night. It came with the actual unit and then a small ziplock with the terminal connections, no wires, just the terminal connections. I got a couple short sections of wire, crimped the terminal connections on and then figured out which wires in my ignition key block were the ones I wanted. Positive goes to the positive wire used when the engine is running and the negative wire went to the ground. I first installed it with the positive/positive wires and the negative to the negative wire and let it run off the battery for an hour and a half to match up with the usage of the machine up to that point as I actually received the hours meter in the mail after having already run the machine and hour and a half. I then unhooked the neg/neg and then tied it in as neg/ground. easy. Due to warranty issues with the machine I have to zip tie it in right now. Once the factory warranty is done then I can drill a hole and it will easily slip in and lock in with the trim ring set up that the meter comes with.

This little hour meter is presently in use in a 12 volt system in an experimental aircraft and so far (only 2.3 hours) is working perfectly. As stated in another review, this unit can be heard when the engine is not running but it is not what I would call noisy. The price was right, shipping was on time and product performance is exactly as expected.

Installed it about a week ago on riding tractor and it records the time just like it was designed to do --even has a 1/10 number or in other words 1/10 of an hour. There is no light for nighttime use. I would advise buying the mount unless one has a hole all ready available for it to mount in.

I bought this hour meter to put in my boat because I just installed a new motor. Tested it on my 12v battery and it started to roll over so I hooked to my ignition. Just checked to see how many hours were on it so I could change the break in oil and it's stuck on 1 hr. Guess you get what you pay for. $20,000 motor and a $12.00 hour meter. What was I thinking.

Very nice, good price built in mounting thing in the back/outside case. Feels very light weight like it might be cheap though.

I ordered 2 of these units. One for my generator and the other for my wood splitter. The first one never worked right out of the package and the second one "fogs up" a short time after the engine is running. The second one is running because you can hear it running but you cannot see the time due to the lens filling with water vapor. I have no idea where the water vapor came from unless it was already trapped inside the unit during manufacturing. Do yourself a favor and spend more on one of the better units.
