Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

The parent-friendly, bedroom-ready Quasar VV-2002 TV/VCR combination makes it not just possible but easy to wake to TV, sleep to TV, watch TV, record broadcasts, and view your complete library of homemade, rental, or store-bought videotapes. The 20-inch set includes a VCR with an eight-event timer, while front-panel audio/video input jacks (composite-video/monaural analog audio) accommodate a camcorder, gaming console, or second VCR. A monaural headphone jack lets you listen in private or late at night.

If you'll be using the set at a trade show, its repeat function will come in especially handy, rewinding and replaying each tape as soon as it ends. A host of automated features are included to streamline usage, including one-touch recording, automatic digital tracking (with manual tracking still an option), auto clock set (with automatic daylight savings adjustment), auto/timed power on, auto rewind, and auto eject. The VCR permits both indexing and index searching (and really, what would be the point of one without the other?).

The compact unit sports a trilingual (English, Spanish, French) onscreen display for easy system configuration. Also included are a closed-caption decoder, sleep and wake timers, and the V-Chip parental guidance system as well as VCR lock for an extra measure of security.

What's in the Box
TV/VCR combo, a remote control, remote batteries, and a user's manual.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good space-saving combo, April 28, 2004
This review is from: Quasar VV-2002 20-Inch Mono TV/VCR Combo (Electronics)
I have what I think may be an earlier model of this tv/vcr combo since mine doesn't have the V-chip and the remote control is different. Other than that it's the same thing. I've had mine for about five years now and am quite satisfied with it. One handy feature mine has is called "Nite Mode". This mode darkens the picture to make it easier on your eyes if you're watching at night with the lights off. VCR programming is easy and intuitive.

The only major improvement I'd make is to the quality of the remote as certain buttons on mine have begun to stick or not work at all. I suppose it's normal wear and tear so I got a universal remote to deal with that. Another thing I'd like is the option of a rear A/V input as opposed to having them in front because this makes for some awkward running of cables around the set. Overall it's a good value for the money if you have limited space in your home and can't afford any electronics clutter on the TV stand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent TV, March 23, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Quasar VV-2002 20-Inch Mono TV/VCR Combo (Electronics)
This is a great TV (it's a Sony Quasar, so why not?), but I bought this so long ago that this review is probably worthless. Besides, the TV is no longer available from Amazon. It has a built-in VCR, and who the heck uses VCRs nowadays? The picture is great, if you're on cable, but I don't even know if it's digital cable compatible, or if you need a converter if you use an antenna. I guess, after May, when all television becomes digital, it will make a fairly adequate boat anchor.
