I see the price of this on Amazon and when comparing it with the other 'Monsters' series of the Real Ghostbusters Kenner toy line and can do nothing but be in agreement. I mean, for me, at least, I have some somewhat sad memories pertaining to it. After the Ghostbusters "fad" died down (a lot), circa 1996, a few years after the toy line had gone out of production, I looked high and low across every toy store I could find. This toy was all I could find. Actually, there were two of 'em, but one of them had fallen off the packaging (or did the packaging fall of it? Hmm...), so of course I had no interest in that one...I went ahead and got the other one, just 'cause it was Ghostbusters and I loved Ghostbusters...
The packaging for the Real Ghostbusters toys overall was eye candy to the Nth degree. I can't afford to buy all the toys I used to have and/or wish I had back when they were on the shelves but couldn't have (for varying reasons...), but to have the packaging for the figures would be plenty for me. As for the toy itself, what did they expect from a toy with puke-orange as its main color? |
