My loves, this is the best album I own to date. If you love gothic music (not that I would really say this was gothic music) with a hard edge then you will never be sorry that you bought this album. My loves, this is the best album I own to date. If you love gothic music (not that I would really say this was gothic music) with a hard edge then you will never be sorry that you bought this album. The orginal 'Lestat' songs are on here brimming with emotion on how it feels to be a vampire. The lyrics are simply amazing and the mood....neferious, dark, brooding and seductive to say the least. I had this ablum since the movie came out and I have not grown tired of it yet. I suggest that for added atmosphere you get the score for Queen of the Damned and mix it all together for a lovely array of dark melancholy and blissful damnation.
(PS-I believe I may have accidently brought the 'clean' version...there are two so do be careful when you buy..especially since I did not see any label that differentiated the two but perhaps that it my fault.
PSS-If you enjoy songs about vampires you might enjoy Inkubus Sukkubus' album Vampyre Erotica it is rather good though obviously more gothic and not really that hard. Also, do browse through Music from the Succubus Club-based on Vampire: The Masquade, it is also very good and displays various types of gothic music.Another great dark, brooding vampire song is 'Suspended in Dusk' by Type O Negative...I still get chills listening to that one. However, if you have a sense of humour you might want to look up Adrian Alexis' (?..er, I think that's wrong)parody song 'I want to be a vampire'..it is rather funny.)
Dark regards,
Marpesia Mahayana

I am a huge music fan. And trust me when I tell you this I know when a CD is a GREAT CD. I often dislike movie soundtracks but this soundtrack blew me away. It is one of the best soundtracks that I have ever listened to or bought. If you don't even somewhat like this album your a musically challenged!!

LOVE ALL THE SONGS... I had to get the clean version so my kid and I could share, but I might have to get the iTunes 'not so clean version' for myself soon.

--Too bad they didn't have any Aaliyah songs on there. I loved her from back in the day.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Queen of all Soundtracks, June 16, 2002

This is the best soundtrack I've ever heard. I listen to it everyday. I just can't get enough of this soundtrack. "Forsaken" by David from Disturbed is one pf my favorites, but the one I mostly love is "Slept so Long" by Jay Gordon from Orgy. "System" by Chester Bennington from Linkin Park is great as well as "Redemer" by Marilyn Manson. Jonathon Davis and Richard Gibbs are great and made this soundtrack great by adding those tracks. I also love the song by Wayne Static of Static-X. I also loved the other track "Cold" from Static-X. Deftones "Change" still is great after hearing it so many times now. In conclusion, this is the best soundtrack ever and is great as the movie!

5.0 out of 5 stars Queen of the Damned Soundtrack, September 3, 2003

This soundtrack completes the movie entirely. If you read through the lyrics, the music and words blend perfectly. Anne Rice's Vampires are lonely, mournful creatures, and the lyrics for most of the songs on this album really work.

Not too sure about the music being 'Gothic' but you are definitely left with a forboding feeling when you listen to it. Great input from many of today's better muso's: Chester Bennington (Linkin Park), Wayne Static (Static X) and David Draiman (Disturbed). This CD is a MUST have if youre into that genre of music.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best soundtrack in the world! (or close to it), April 7, 2002

To whomever is reading this, you probably are at least considering buying this CD. That's a start. But considering just isn't enough. Trust me, you HAVE to buy this CD. This has got to be THE best soundtrack I have ever heard. As soon as you hear it, you will be hypnotized. Seriously. My personal favorites-- the ones I recommend to you-- are definitely "Slept so Long" by Jay Gordon of Orgy, and "Forsaken" by David Draiman of Disturbed. "Slept so Long" is so haunting. It wrenches your heart out. You almost feel just like you are part of the song, like it's being told through your perspective. "Forsaken" is a fantastic song, too. Most of the songs on the CD start to make you FEEL like you a part of the movie (like a vampire) after you listen to them for a while. :-)
Trust me, buy this CD. You won't regret it.

what a disappointment this soundtrack was for me! the best song called "After" from band called "Wide Open Cage" wasn't on this this soundtrack, and now i know that the song i was looking for was from WOC. i would have thought that original sountrack includes ALL the songs and not just missing the best one! how silly. only thing now to comfort is that Tricky's song was pretty good too...
