4.0 out of 5 stars Advertising trick
I have to admit I was fooled by what was written on the packaging of these sheets. In very large type it says "1000 thread count Egyptian cotton" but when you read the smaller print, it says "soft as".

I wasn't thrilled when I found out that they were not what I thought they were because I thought I had gotten an awesome deal on 1000 thread count sheets, but...

When I first saw this offering, I was amazed. How can 1,000 thread count Egyptian cotton sheet sets be so inexpensive? So I bought a set. As it turns out, these sheets are not what they claim to be. They don't feel like cotton! Now I know why they were so cheap! This sheet is not 1,000 thread count, it is not Egyptian cotton, it is not even cotton! It feels like it is Polyester microfiber - probably about 200 thread count! I have a set of 200 thread count polyester microfiber sheet sets, and this set feels exactly like those! It is amazing that this seller gets away with these false claims - shame on them for deceiving the public like this. These sheets feel nothing like the Pike Street 1,000 thread count Egyptian cotton sheet sets.Pike Street 1,000-Thread-Count Egyptian Cotton Queen Sheet Set, Ivory Now those are nice sheets! These cheap sets are 1/3 the weight, and no where near as soft as the Pike Street sets. You get what you pay for. As they say...if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. To me, this shows poor judgement on Amazon.com to allow this type of deceptive advertising on their web site. I am returning these sets back to Amazon.

ADDED 12/15/09: Notice how they now are advertising these sets as "Soft Touch As 1000 Thread Count Sheet Set". They admit they were misrepresenting this product! Note that under the "Product Features" they are still falsely advertising this sheet set as "1000 thread count, 100 percent Egyptian cotton". This is simply not true. They should be required to change that claim as well! In addition, the set I received did not have a, "6 inch hem with detailing on flat sheet and pillowcases". Mine came with a 2 inch plain hem. The drop on the fitted sheet was only 14 inches - how does this fit an 18 inch mattress? I don't think there is one claim from this vendor that is the truth!

ADDED 12/18/09: Now they are only charging $19.49? A week ago they were charging over $30.00! I guess now that they had to tell the truth that these are NOT 1,000 thread count 100% Egyptian cotton sheets, they aren't selling. I feel bad for anyone who bought these sheets and paid a higher price. Not only did this company rip them off on the price, they also ripped them off on the quality. If they had any sense of dignity, they would return the excess money back to those customers. I returned mine, so I don't have to worry about this. If you are still considering buying this sheet - you get what you deserve!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not 1000 thread count Egyptian Cotton, January 23, 2010
This review is from: 1200 Thread Count Queen 100% Egyptian Comfort 4 Piece Sheet Set Assorted Colors by JS Sanders Collection (Kitchen)
These sheets are aweful. I received them as a Christmas gift from my mother-in-law. I have been purchasing 800-1000 thread count sheets for over 10 years. These are thin, the elastic is cheap, and not nearly as soft as 1000 thread count. If you want soft cheap sheets they are probably ok, but these are definately as cheap as their price. The advertising is false. On the package states, "with the soft touch AS 1000 thread count, 100% Egyptian cotton" WHICH THEY ARE NOT. If you are in the market for nice heavy duty luxury sheets... pass on these. Even my 3 year-old son says they are scratchy.

B. Tucker was right. I bought these sheets at $33 in December 09 when they were advertised as Egyptian Cotton. I contacted the seller about it, and he replied that he had no idea what they were but that he had a warehouse full of them and he didn't know what to do with them. He added that "but I guess if you want you can return them." Well I had already washed them because it seemed like there was a lot of fitting (gluelike, starchy substance put on fabrics to give them that in-store, heavier feel). I also didn't feel like waiting a month to get a refund when it was the holiday season and I really needed that extra set of sheets. So I didn't return the sheets. I do, however, feel sorry for our overnight guest.

The sheets don't even have a tag on them showing WHAT they're made of. There is a small plastic-like tag that states only, "MADE IN CHINA". Not implying anything just stating the facts. It angered me to be deceived by this seller.

Also, the product brand is J. S. Sanders, not Jessica Sanders.

This product is ridiculous.

1.0 out of 5 stars Consumer Reports CONFIRMS THIS!! DECEPTIVE!! FIBER FIBBERS!!, May 30, 2010
By
This review is from: 1200 Thread Count Queen 100% Egyptian Comfort 4 Piece Sheet Set Assorted Colors by JS Sanders Collection (Kitchen)
It is possible that these sheets contain NO COTTON whatsoever.

I purchased a JS Sanders sheet set from a fair vender in Boulder with a sign that reads:
"100% Egyptian Cotton Sheets", the seller's business card reads "100% Egyptian Cotton Sheets"

The label on the sheets reads in large print:

820 THREAD COUNT
100% Eqyptian Cotton
SHEET SET

(and gives care instructions that would be appropriate for cotton sheets)

HOWEVER, there is a paragraph of smaller print above this text.
This is where they GOT US:

"...and are made of high strength micro fiber yarns that
will stay soft and wrinkle free for years to come with the soft touch as"

It's a con job. They even featured this exact company on the back
page of this month's CONSUMER REPORT with the heading "Fiber Fib".

To be clear, the JS Sanders "100% Egyptian Cotton Sheets" that I purchased
contain ZERO PERCENT COTTON. They are polyester micro fibers.

I don't really think that the person selling them was trying to be dishonest....I think that they were fooled as well.

1.0 out of 5 stars FALSE ADVERTISING!, July 4, 2010
This review is from: 1200 Thread Count Queen 100% Egyptian Comfort 4 Piece Sheet Set Assorted Colors by JS Sanders Collection (Kitchen)
As many previous reviews have stated, these sheets are NOT 820 thread count and are not 100% egyptian cotton. They are so thin you can see through them and they are not soft to the touch.
Don't waste your money or your time. I'm surprised Amazon has not pulled these from their offerings. Very disappointing !!

2.0 out of 5 stars I wish I would have read the whole description before buying, June 10, 2010
This review is from: 1200 Thread Count Queen 100% Egyptian Comfort 4 Piece Sheet Set Assorted Colors by JS Sanders Collection (Kitchen)
I knew the price was too good to be true. When you opened the package in the store they do feel pretty soft to the touch. So, I bought two sets. When I went to change my son's bed I opened the package and these sheets were sooo thin and see thru. The stitching is horrible and not very durable looking. I do like the idea of the fitted sheet having elastic all the way around. After reading all the reviews on here I decided to read the description of the sheets, "Soft as". The second set of sheets will go in the camper instead of on my bed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good sheets for the price - for us plain folks, not sheet officianados..., August 11, 2010
This review is from: 1200 Thread Count Queen 100% Egyptian Comfort 4 Piece Sheet Set Assorted Colors by JS Sanders Collection (Kitchen)
I have no doubt there is something goofy with this product. The price is too good, and the reviews are all over the board about whether they are cotton, microfiber, 1200TC, 1000TC, whatever ...

The point is...who cares?!

These sheets are soft and comfortable. They fit my bed, and they were less expensive than the average 300-450 TC sheet set when it's on sale. So, if I've been fooled and these sheets are only 300 TC - I still make out better than the $50 set... because there is nothing WRONG with these sheets. Yes, they are thin, but I actually prefer them to be lightweight instead of thick, they are cooler that way in the summer. They do have a bit of a sheen to them, which is a nice touch. I have no idea if they are cotton, or egyptian cotton, or microfiber and since I don't have time to iron my sheets, I guess I'll never know. Pity.

They may not be what they claim, but for the price I think they were an excellent buy - regardless of the details. So, I am not condoning the false claims - it wouldn't surprise me for a minute that it could be proven that these are not 1200 TC 100% Egyptian Cotton sheets, and it probably should be corrected. BUT that doesn't say anything about what these sheets ACTUALLY ARE, which in my opinion is a a soft, light, comfortable, low priced set a sheets. If they represented them correctly, at this price, the reviews would probably be great. SO, it's about managing expectations. If you're really into luxury sheets, you will be disappointed. If you're just looking for a deal on an everyday set of sheets - this is your deal.

This review is from: 1200 Thread Count Queen 100% Egyptian Comfort 4 Piece Sheet Set Assorted Colors by JS Sanders Collection (Kitchen)
I just purchased a set of these JS Sanders Collection sheets from a church fundraiser for $35 and was very suspicious of the price so starting researching them.... And everyone reviewing here is correct whether negative or positive. These are incredibly soft wonderful sheets for the price but they probably aren't cotton and definitely aren't 1500 TC (as mine are labeled). The manufacturer's paper label included in the package states "as soft AS 1500 TC 100% Egyptian Cotton Sheet Set". The 'do not dry clean, bleach or iron' is what caught my eye first. Who ever heard of cotton sheets that can't be ironed? Anyway, I still LOVE them as they are incredibly soft and breathe well and I am ordering a second set as a gift for my parents!
