It leaves my hair so very soft and shiny!
C. Dickerson
I almost didn't get this because it's just so dang cheap and I didn't think it would work well.
A. Landers
I apply liberally and work it into my hair, and massage it into my scalp.

Obviously someone didn't know how to use this product. I am a Caucasian female who's been using cholesterol treatments in my hair since I went to Beauty School. (19 years ago) Cholesterol will not make your hair break off. Thats crazy. While it is specifically formulated for African American hair, it will work on any hair type. After a treatment, your hair might be limp for a few days but thats because it's a deep conditioner. That wears off after a few days. What you're left with is marvelous hair that feels so luscious. It leaves my hair so very soft and shiny! Queen Helene products are old standards in hair products and they work.
Cholesterol treatments are a hair mask. They are really thick, true. Apply a good amount of the product to dry hair, work into your hair and scalp especially, cover with a cap, and get under a dryer for about an hour. If you don't have a hooded dryer, get out in the sun or at least keep warm. The heat from your head will activate the product. I've even left the product in my hair overnight with great success. I've got mid back length hair thats really thick. My scalp can get dry too, so this product really helps there too. A 15 oz jar will give me about 2 or 3 treatments at most. Do these treatments once every six months for best results. The cost? Cheap as all get out!
I actually did a video about Queen Helene Cholesterol in my videos on youtube. You can watch it here: [..]

I recently went through a bone infection that required high doses of antibiotics. The side effects included hair loss, which I had lots of. What hair that was left on my head was super brittle and dull. I bought this product, after using tons of expensive stuff. Immediately my hair was shinier. I used it three times in the first week and my hair stopped falling out. It felt softer, as did my scalp, and bounced. The color came back.I use it once a week now. I put it on in the shower after shampooing and leave it on, putting a shower cap over it for about an hour, then I wash it out. It is an awesome deal at this price!

I love this product. I use it as a deep conditioner in my hair and even if you don't leave in for a long time or don't use a heating cap to penetrate through the roots, this product still leaves your hair feels soft and super moisturized.I have thick kinky curly hair and after i wash my hair with this,my curls are bouncy and soft.

Awesome product that I've used for over 20 years. I have gotten other friends hooked on this too!
I have very fine light blond hair and this product makes my hair look like strands of gold!!! I can no longer find it at CVS, Walgrens, Family Dollar or Dollar General,/ What's up with that???

If your hair, like mine, was/is fried at any point by over processing then this will rehabilitate it.
My hair was to the point where I couldn't brush it while wet, or dry after one bleaching treatment. It was breaky and coarse and tangled. What a mess. Use this for an hour or more every other day (don't bother washing extremely damaged hair, just wet first then apply) cover your hair with a plastic cap or grocery bag, saran wrap works excellent if you put it on first, then a bag. Seals in the moisture and heat from your scalp so this can penetrate deeper.

NOTE: If you have a Sally's Beauty near you then please go there and buy it if you are able. It is cheaper and you get instant gratification.

This works to repair my coarse, thick dry hair. While other Asians tend to have smooth silky hair, I have the coarse thick and unruly kind. It's the most moisturizing treatment I've used.

I chose this particular product because it's very affordable, moisturizing, and it's on the Leaping Bunny list. When your hair is too protein-rich, it's dry, not stretchy, and brittle. When your hair is too moisture-rich, it's very mushy, stretchy, and thin. (You should use protein treatments if your case is the latter.)

This doesn't have extra protein to make my overabundance of protein worse, and it gives me the extra moisture I need. The trick to this treatment is to use it on wet hair and build it up into a very creamy lather. Leave it in for as long as you'd like. It should rinse out almost like shampoo with very warm water: clean and bubbly. And then it's good to lather your hair up with clarifying conditioner (or any regular old conditioner, really) to rinse out any leftover residue. If you have dry skin, it's great to rinse this out into a shallow bath and then soak your body in the water like a bubble bath for a few minutes. Cholesterol is good for your hair AND skin. And chances are, if your hair responds well to it, your skin will, too!
