Not just for women...,

I get extremely chapped hands in the winter and they become very sensitive to the chemicals and acids in most moisturizers. There are only two creams I've found, out of dozens of products, that don't burn my hands. This one and the Cocoa Body Butter. The difference? This one is less than half the cost. It is great for keeping moisture in and repairing chapped and cracking skin. I can't do winter without it.
The main caveat is that this is a cream, not a lotion. It doesn't 'soak in' like most lotions do. It leaves a fairly heavy film on the skin (depending on how much you use, I use a lot) which can wind up on your clothes if you're not careful. If you use just a dab, which goes a long way, you won't have the same issue.

Cocoa butter cream works well for me as a lubricant for use with bicycle shorts. Effectively prevents chapping and chafing of the area of the skin above the bicycle short chamois and the bicycle seat. I am able to apply this product liberally because it is so affordable compared to the specialty products available in bicycle stores.it also washes out of the bicycle short without a problem.

I have tried every product on the market and consulted numerous dermatologists for dry skin. This is the best I have found and when discussing the product with doctors and nurses, they confirm that is the best I can do for my condition. The best part is that it is also the most modestly priced.

Cyclists, listen up: this is an excellent chamois cream at a fraction the cost of other balms. This is far superior to any of the half dozen or so cycling specific creams (I have tried) on the market - including one from a Swiss firm. Try it, you will not regret it.

Cocoa butter creme,

This cream is very reasonably priced, however, I didn't like the creme itself. It spread on nicely but it was very oily. Didn't seem to absorb very well. Felt very greasy and I was afraid it might stain my clothes. Good to put on if your skin is very, very dry.

I started to use this a while back and stopped, I regretted it! I'm 26 years old and people tell me I still look like I'm in Highschool.... thank you Queen Ellen... and if you use it as a face cream it will last for months on end... Plus you can use it all over your body and leaves you feeling super soft.

I love this stuff I've been buying it for yrs it keeps my skin super soft after showers and baths. I've recently turned my boyfriend into a believer! The smell is absolutely wonderful! I love how smooth it glides on and how it melts into my skin like butta. I've stocked up on it so I can have gorgeous skin all spring and summer!

It's that time of year for rough dry skin, and what do you do about it. There are a whole host of products on the shelf in the stores for skin health, but what do you choose? A good start is a good cocoa butter creme and Queen Helene has mineral oil, water, beeswax, Paraffin, Theobroma Cocao seed butter, sodium borate and lanolin all mixed together is a pleasant smelling creme. Queen Helene is mixed in a way that it is absorbed quickly, but it doesn't have much of a protectant basis to keep the skin from becoming irritated again. To get that extra protection you have to add white petrolatum and some anhydrous lanolin to achieve better product, a lantiseptic skin protectant. In general, for just mild use it's a fine product, but to get a protectant that will stay on the skin and be absorbed at the same time you'll need to add the additives above with glycerin or mineral oil to incorporate into the mix. This will give you a heavier creme but will not leave a residue. Dry skin is subjective and Queen Helene Cocoa Butter Creme is only a first step if you get really dry skin. Remember most soaps and detergents dry out the skin and you need to rehydrate the skin to keep it subtle. The best time to rehydrate the skin is after a bath or shower, this traps the moisture into the skin and gives a smoother feel. There are 5 classes or types of ointment bases which are differentiated on the bases of their physical composition. Queen Helene falls into the oil/water emulsion ointment bases, which is easily washable and doesn't protect against alkali soaps. For mild dry skin this would be fine, but it only gets a 3 star rating . |
