I'm an atheist and have done my own Bible parodies, so I'm by no means opposed to poking fun at scripture. But what's this thing? Besides a colossal waste of time and ink? All sorts of sodomy puns where they're not even germane? Reads like the product of insane and vengeful hatred of the ancient book.

Father forgive them for they know not what they do. I pray for your souls because that's what is needed. When a person starts to twist & change God's word then that person really needs prayer because God is going to hold you accountable for all the souls you lead astray. May God have mercy on your soul for writing this bible & may he have mercy for all the ones who are going to buy this.

This Version of the Bible is a must read for all. It reveals the true nature of religion and it's true purpose. By cutting to the hard core psychological base of human mind control. With thousands of years of refined propaganda technology in it's box of mental tricks, religion is opened like a can of slithering worms. With the slippery and devious underground stories being dug up and used as bait for the gullible and the ignorant. I give Douglas Rankin 5 stars for his candor and humor to bring to light the wisdom of the Christian Bible with all it's lies, gore and stupidity! This will be a family Bible to be treasured like no other! I say lets have the Queen Jane in every library, school and church! AMEN!

If I could give this NO stars I would.
You CANNOT twist and rewrite the Holy Scripture to make sin and abomination look like anything other than what is; which is SIN AND ABOMINATION. Leviticus 18:22, 1st Corinthians 6:9-10, Leviticus 20, Mark 10:6-9, Romans 1:26-27, Matthew 19:4-6. Same sex MARRIAGE may not be mentioned, but same sex relationships are clearly sinful in the eyes of God. He created MAN AND WOMAN, not man and man or woman and woman. There is a purpose behind everything He does. Man and woman procreate. Man and man cannot and woman and woman cannot. Man and woman are the very foundation of mankind. Just because it's legal by word of law and accepted by the general public doesn't make it right. God's plan was clear when He created Eve to be Adam's wife.

I originally bought this book because it was on sale, seemed like it would be amusing, and might look pretty on my shelf. What I got was a reference bible almost as useful as a good concordance, and I suggest anyone with an interest in biblical topics grab one, Christian or otherwise. Here's why.

This book has two things going for it: aggressive, mean, sarcastic humor that probably won't be appreciated by most Christians, and an amazing visual topic reference. The Queen Jane's Version is (in)(famously) studded with icons denoting the sex and the violence and the boring parts, but it also indicates the peaceful parts, the insightful parts, and the really good stuff (and touches on lots of lefty topics like the treatment of women, xenophobia, and severe overreaction by those in power to *whatever*). It ought to serve as a lesson to everyone that when the author set out to satirize the Bible beginning to end, he couldn't do it. This guy was actively hostile and even he couldn't get past the beauty in the psalms or the wisdom and insight of Jesus.

The Bible isn't exactly something to be read cover to cover, and neither is Queen Jane's Version. It's one guy's snarky take on all the biblical stories. Flip through this book and let the visual references guide you. When you're done, go look up the chapter and verse in the real thing and see what you find.

I was the first to write a review on Doug's book. He sent me a signed copy which I will always cherish. I also distributed several copies of his
book to people who attended the Freedom of Religion Foundation annual event in San Antonio, TX in 1999.
I reference this book many many times throughout the years. It is an amazing work.
But I would also like to recommend another book which is a ground breaking book that I am sure Doug would
also endorse.
It is Caesar's Messiah by Joseph Atwill. His books are available here at Amazon and he has a web site and YouTube entries.

Doug... It has been a long time since we have connected.. I hope you are doing well. I thank you again for your wonderful work on
The Queen Jane.... Love always .. Diane.
