What is true friendship?,
By A Customer
This review is from: Down with Queen Janet! (Sweet Valley Twins) (Paperback)
One of the things that I liked most about this book was the fact that it was pretty realistic. I felt sorry for the people who were afraid of speaking back to Janet in case they became her next target. I also felt sympathy for Jessica because she was stuck-in-the-middle but, at least she did support Janet until the end which just goes to show that there is more to Jessica than make-up and clothes ;-) Liz's do-gooding ways did irritate because, she kept pressuring Jess into doing to 'right' thing which was going to Lois's party instead of Janet's. It seems to me that Liz is pretty sure of herself, I mean, why is her way always seen as the 'right' way? I don't think it was, and I think that what Jess did was pretty brave. Lois was pretty brave too. This book is pretty well written and I would definitely reccommend it because it deals with the notion of what true friendship really is.

GET A LIFE JANET!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Down with Queen Janet! (Sweet Valley Twins) (Paperback)
In this book Janet Howell is as mean as ever. You must keep in mind that I have only read these books because it's countdown to Jr. High. Janet is having a party and everyone is like "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" and "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" C'mon! Gimme a break! I wouldn't go to her party for the world. And I guess Elizabeth agrees with me. Because when she stands up for her friend Lois Waller they are both taken off the guest list! But Elizabeth decides to have Lois throw her own party. She sends everyone invitations and, at first everyone says that of course they would rather go to Janet's, and you might agree. But you might want to see what your money's worth.

Great Book,

I think this book is a truly wonderful book. It has a story about friendship and I found myself getting lost among the characters. I think this book shows that there really is a nice part in everybody, even if they have a tough exterior.

This book is the best one I got. It was part of 2 other stories that close out SV Twins, but man! Janet was on a rampage! IT starts off when Lois Waller accidentally splatters food on her blouse and man, the insults Janet spilled out to poor Lois to make her cry! Then Janet insults Elizabeth, then when Sophia Rizzo takes a stand, Janet has some stuff for her! Then Janet insults little known couples like Cammi and Randy, then tells Winston Egbert to not tell jokes, then the boys' basketball not to wear certain items! It's a wonder that Janet didn't get beat up! Lois Waller was an excellent 'and a child shall lead them', bravely telling people to stand up for their rights. Trying to not to spoil the ending, it's interesting how at first it seemed both Lois and Janet weren't going to have a party at all, Jessica stands in the cold literally debating on to take a stand for Liz or support Janet, and Lois actually displays a big heart for Janet despite the many times Janet cut her down! By the end, everything works out and a friendship is established! One can hope if Janet and Lois meet again in high school that they reignited their lost friendship. I was glad that Lois was made into a character, and showing that she'd never cut anybody down. Buy this book, you'll shed tears for both Lois and Janet.

Well...,

It was good, but it could have been better. I thought that Janet wasn't this cruel in the older books. Again I think Jamie is lost her writing technique in the newest SWTs (110-117) No escape was the last good book she wrote!

I hated how Janet's friends treated Janet as if she was a good friend. Janet treated Jessica and the rest of the Unicorns like dirt. Janet has a serious attitude. This story shows you what a friend really is.

If I could, I wouldn't give it any stars! It stunk, and Janet was a total jerk. Nobody treats their friends like that, and if I were Jessica, I would tell that ugly, big nosed witch off!!!!!!!!! Very stupid!

I love books where a nasty character is being mean and thinks she's getting away with it and all through the book, you wince for the people the villian victimizes, then WHAM! The villian gets socked with a come-uppance in the end! Some of those Unicorns were incredible snobs and often made Lois their target. I like Lois, who reminds me of shy, sensitive Mary Anne from the BSC books. I cheered for her in the end when she gets her wish. And to top it off, Lois never sinks to Janet's immaturity. Janet really asked for that one!
