Dismal.,

This review is from: The Elf Queen & the King Book 2 (Ruin Mist Tales, Book 2) (Paperback)
I'm sorry to have to say that this is one of those crystal clear examples of why some people are self published. I saw no literary or stroytelling merit in the work at all. Compared with the work of masters such as Vernor Vinge, George R.R. Martin or David Langford, this limp effort doesn't even get its head above the parapet.

An Amazing Story!,

My father bought this book for me because he liked Keeper Martin's Tale so much. He's usually good at picking interesting stories but this time he REALLY did it. There aren't enough stars up there to credit Mr. Stanek justly! 'EQ&K' showcases his great talent and ability to breath life into a story. This dark fantasy is full of unexpected twists, keeping the story exciting. It is a truly brilliant work--the best I have yet discovered. If you have even the slightest interest after reading these reviews, then I strongly suggest that you find yourself a copy or two or three! I can't imagine anyone could be disappointed with this one. Thank you, Mr. Stanek! Thank you!

Debatably the single best fantasy book ever! I'm hooked. I've read all Robert Stanek's books published this far and can't wait until the next one The story is stellar and the characters are real and believable. What a series!

The characters come alive! The authors heroes are heroic and the villains are just starting to be revealed for what they are. The political intrigue mixed in with already great plots makes this excellent reading and adds depth to already great story. Like I said before if you like to get so wrapped up in a book that you can't wait to get back to read some more, this is the one for you. Every time you think you've figured out what's next, things change. I love it!

I found this second book to be one of the best science fiction / fantasy novels ever written. Robert Stanek develops his characters so well. I enjoyed every moment that I spent reading. I did not want to do anything else but read this book. I thought the previous book was one of the best I had ever read until I read this. This is the BEST! Keep reading!

GREAT adventure!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Elf Queen & the King Book 2 (Ruin Mist Tales, Book 2) (Paperback)
This is the second book in the Ruin Mist Tales series. In most series the first book is the best and sequels just don't compare, but the "The Elf Queen and the King 2" is quite different. The book picks up right where the first left off and what happens next is amazing! I found that I enjoyed the second Elf Queen book much more than the first and that's says a lot. This story is excellent. I haven't read anything this good or this original. The story is about three groups of characters that join forces. Vilmos a boy of 12 who leaves home to become a mage is parnered with Xith, a gnome who helps guide him. Adrina a young princess leaves the palace and goes on an adventure to the south and has a friend Emel who is a guardsman. Seth and Galan the elves that leave their home to travel across a great sea. They are all swept into the adventure of their lifetime filled with excitement and danger.

I loved the story line of Seth and Vilmos and Adrina and Emel. The part that really got me was the battle for Quashan. 'That started to make the book even more interesting. I wish I had CD's of the books to listen to, I would have listened to them nonstop the summertime. This story was wonderful!! I can't wait for the third book!

As a fan of The Kingdoms and the Elves books, I enjoyed this alternate telling of Ruin Mist's history. I just wish Book 3 and 4 would hurry up and come out already.
