4.0 out of 5 stars The Orginal Rude Gal in full effect!
This cd from patra is probably the closest u will come to tru hardcore reggae as raw as ever from a female(next to lady saw). Patra has been out of the game for a while but this cd is still tight everytime I listen to it. U could say she is kinda like the LIL KIM of reggae but not as explicit. The beats here are tight and she mixes it up. While letting u know who run...

2.0 out of 5 stars The Dawn of Dancehall
A great album enhanced by collaborations with Yo Yo and the late Lyn Collins. Who knows when (if) Patra's rumored "come-back" will happen... in the meantime, get her debut disc. 2 & 1/2 stars.

While letting u know who run things on the song "Queen of teh pack" she gets concious on "Poor People". "Romantic Call" is another tight jam on this with yoyo and the beat it tight. Listen to this at full blast. "Protected" lets u know that being protected with sex is the only way to go. Overall this cd is tight and if u never heard of her..this is a good cd to start with.

Tight!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Debut Album, July 3, 2003

I love every song on this cd. Patra is very talented being able to rap and sing with great success. She needs to release a new album so her fans can once again experince this queen of the pack! Here is my breakdown of each track.
1. Hardcore 10/10. This is tradational style Dancehall at it's best. It was also successful in the Dancehalls/Clubs.
2. Think (About It) 10/10. This song is the hit remake of the Lyn Collins classic. Great music and vocals from both artists.
3. Queen of the Pack 10/10. This is a great example of early 90's Dancehall. It features Patra showing her great rap skills. The video for it was great too.
4. Poor People Song 9/10. This song is saying that you should keep your head up in the face any problems whether it be finanial, social, etc.
5. Wok the Money 9/10. Hot music and vocals.
6. Romantic Call feat.10/10. This was another hit single featuring the rapper Yo-Yo. This one talks about wanting to see her man beacuse she is feeling lonely.
7. Worker Man 10/10. This is the song that got me hooked on Patra's music. It became a big hit in 1994. The video is very sensual.
8. Sexual Feeling feat. Chirstopher Williams 10/10. A sexy song that is great for lovers or the lover in you. Hot R&B influenced Dancehall. Impessive and sexy vocals from Christopher Williams.
9. Be Protected 10/10. Talks about having safe sex and enjoying it.
10. Whining Skill 10/10. This song explains what and how to do the dance known as whining. This was also a hit single in Dancehalls.
11. Knock Knock 10/10. Talks about a man she likes and what happens when they got together.
12. In The Mood 10/10. This is a sultry R&B/Dancehall song that's perfect for dancing suggestively to. Talks about what happens when two people can't deny their attraction to each other anymore.
13. Think (About It) 10/10. This is the Hip-Hop remix to the orginal. Excellent early 90's Hip-Hop sound.

4.0 out of 5 stars Queen of the Dance Hall, June 19, 2001
This review is from: Queen Of The Pack (Audio CD)
This is great hip-hop raggae from PATRA. QUEEN OF THE PACK displays some very, very tight funk with rapid-fire rap. My favourite track is THINK (About it) a J. Brown cover. It's all great. If you are interested in funk, hip-hop or music that moves and grooves, this CD will be interesting to you.

Patra's debut, Queen Of The Pack is a classic in its own right. During the time of its release there wasn't anything to compare nor come close. She begins with the "Hardcore" sound and sexiness that makes this type of music attractive. The slow "Sexual Feeling" featuring Christopher Williams and "In The Mood" has a mixture of reggae and mainstream r&b. On a more uptempo club type Patra has the title track and "Romantic Call" featuring Yo-Yo. Not only does she have a variety of subjects like "Poor People's Song" and "Wok The Money" it becomes inviting with this lp's diversity. Queen Of The Pack is filled with sex, sexuality, slow grinding (whining), and more sex! Now that's sexy.
