Queen Latifah did it again and brought down the house with this BOOK! This book rocks! It is so good, and Queen Latifah really instills in her readers morals and important values. I have ALWAYS supported the queen and will never stop! What a great role model for humanity! Long live the real Queen - LATIFAH!

This book is written by a wonderful author, model, actress and singer. Queen Latifah is truly a role model for young African American girls.

I gave this book/cd as a gift to a little girl (10 years old) who was going thru some self image issues. Her father tells me she enjoyed it so much and was so inspired she began taking classes in karate and seems to be very confident in herself these days....

I enjoyed this book a lot. I have followed Queen Latifah since high school and I am so glad that she wrote a positive encouraging uplifting book for young girls. My 6 yr old has not put it down since she got it and she enjoys it with or without listening to the cd. This is a must have for anyone with a young girl in their life. Good job!!! All Hail the Queen.

I love this book, from it's empowering message, to it's bight, colorful and imaginative pictures. The cd is a bonus and makes this book a whole package! It's very cute and fun! I just don't see how someone could not like this book. I've given it as gifts because it's inviting to read, your kids will WANT to read it, even I like to read it. Your kids will want to dwell on the illustrations, before I never really paid attention to illustrator names but Frank Morrison has a style that I really took notice of. I want Queen Latifah and Frank Morrison to do another book! (keep in mind this is a picture book so it is a quick read)

the book queen of the scene is about a little girl she is always going to the playground and she says she is the queen of the scene, queen of the swings and queen of the sandbox. well queen latiquh . just had to rock this book . i just loved it.

I picked this book up because of the author, an actress and musician for whom I have great respect. I was horrified to find this book praises a child for being self-centred, rude, and revelling in her mediocrity - all in the name of empowerment. In my view, this book will not contribute to the healthy development of a child; instead of empowerment, which I hope was the message QL intended, it promotes selfishness and attitude. I was deeply disappointed in the book - the quality of the writing was poor and the message is ugly.

Who's "smooth as a machine" and can build sandcastles "fit for a queen?" Who can shoot hoops, jump rope, and play just about anything? It's Latifah's Queen of the Scene, ruling the playground. Queen Latifah wrote this book in her trademark sassy rap style to inspire young people to believe in themselves, to give it their best to be the best. You can feel the girl-power spirit of her lyrics. The illustrations created by Frank Morrison capture the fluid movements of the kids sliding, swinging, and skipping in the park. Read the book aloud yourself, or listen to Queen Latifah deliver the distinguished rhymes herself on the enclosed CD.

Love the poetic story of this young girl who can go and do it all. My niece drives me crazy with her reading it to me and me reading it to her. I now have Ms. Queen Latifah read to her. SHe loves the CD and know the words in shuch a short time. For a seven year old she is smart as a whip. I love it. The graphics and the music takes me back but she loves the colors and takes care of it better than her toys. Great buy!!!!

I am over an African American Children's Book Club in the community and we went to meet a vendor at the Sweet Auburn Festival and the children selected this book as their next book to read. Everyone in the club "boys and girls" are very happy with this selection.
