Debut author Heather Lang and Coretta Scott King award-winning illustrator Floyd Cooper have done a remarkable job of bringing Olympic medalist Alice Coachman to life for young readers. Coachman's life-long determination and dedication to her sport will inspire readers of all ages. This timely book is a must read. It belongs in every classroom and library in America.

Inspiring story about an unknown heroine. Alice Coachman faced adversity to follow her dream which led to winning an Olympic Gold medal. Good read for kids and adults.

This is a wonderful and inspiring story, especially for kids. With the Summer Olympics this summer, this book would make a great gift for their summer reading. Illustrations are beautiful, too!
