Rather than the traditional round design, Queen's China has created a square tea pot that is unique yet classical at the same time. Produced in conjunction with the Royal Horticultural Society, the elegant floral design is a reproduction of a 19th-century watercolor by the artist Caroline Applebee. Framed by brilliant green leaves, two flowers in bloom and one bud decorate each side of the pot. A band of fresh, light green borders the mouth of the tea pot, while a delicate fringe clings to the bottom of the green band. A geometric pattern, also found on the mugs, encircles the base of the pot as well as the edge of the lid.
Measuring 9-1/2 inches from spout to handle, 5-1/2 inches wide, and 6-1/2 inches tall, this tea pot is suited to accompany other dinnerware, accessories, and serving pieces in the Applebee line. With a 40-ounce capacity, enough tea can be brewed and enjoyed by one person or a group. Experts recommend warming all tea pots with hot water before brewing the tea in order to ensure an enhanced flavor. Queen's China tea pots are constructed from high-fired earthenware and have chip-resistant glossy glaze over the transfer-print pattern.
