5.0 out of 5 stars HILARIOUS!!!!
I've watched this video multiple times both alone and with friends. I've loaned it out to friends, all of whom LOVED it!! If you don't find humor about sex funny, or find skinny women sacred, then this just isn't the video for you. There's no reason to compare it to "The Original Kings of Comedy," too bad the titles are so similar. The humor is totally different. If...

1.0 out of 5 stars They ain't really Queens.
Let me just say from the onset, I am neither a prude nor uptight about sex talk. I wish I would have been when I watched this concert. Maybe I wouldn't have bothered to watch it.

When I saw this video coupled with Kings of Comedy as a combo, I was hyped. I went to see the Kings @ the MCI Center in DC and it was all of that. Very entertaning and a whole lot of fun. I...

If you're tired of the stale "black people do this" vs. "white people do that" format that's so prominent in the "Kings," try out the "Queens" and get ready for something else instead. Oops, I jumped on the bandwagon and compared the two...but just to say THEY'RE TOTALLY DIFFERENT! Check out the Queens! There's a combination of styles that runs from dry humor to more blatant humor, and from subtle to crude. Enjoy it!

4.0 out of 5 stars hilarious, February 25, 2006
This review is from: Queens of Comedy [VHS] (VHS Tape)
a must for collectors. I hate going to crowded clubs and halls with people who are disrespectful. Sitting at home and watching the queens is the next best thing. I can laugh as loud as I want, for as long as I want and pause it for my own intermission and not miss a thing. I laugh to the point of tears every time I watch it.

The Queens of Comdey are just that. Not even the kings have competiton with them. These girls are funny. They are really funny. And Mo'nique is something else. I love her so much. Sommore is my favortie. That hula-hoop thing was crazy! Ssh-Ssh. Anyways, Adele Givens was really funny, too. But, that Laura girl? Is she supposed to be funny? I mean, yeah, she took her wig off, but is that funny? Well, all I know is that this movie will definetly make you laugh, even if you're deaf. This movie tells it like it is and keeps the funnies coming at you. And, with all the behind the scenes of them going around, gives it an even funnier feeling. This movie rocks!

This has to be the best stand up comedy show I have ever seen. I've watched it aleast 5 times and I can't stop laughing each time. The ladies in this show are truely wonder ladies and I hope they don't stop doing the show. I would love to see them live.

1.0 out of 5 stars They ain't really Queens., November 8, 2001

Let me just say from the onset, I am neither a prude nor uptight about sex talk. I wish I would have been when I watched this concert. Maybe I wouldn't have bothered to watch it.

When I saw this video coupled with Kings of Comedy as a combo, I was hyped. I went to see the Kings @ the MCI Center in DC and it was all of that. Very entertaning and a whole lot of fun. I loved the King's movie as well. Even having seen a lot of the material at the concert, the movie was great. So when I saw the Queens of Comedy, I am thinking, "Wow, I am going to laugh my heart out." NOOOOOT. The is a crude, boorish movie. The ladies try and make sex talk funny and do not succeed at all. They come off as comedienne has-beens looking for a cheap laugh. What I found sad was that I have seen all of the ladies work (excl. Ms. Laura) and have been very pleased but this is ridiculous. If there had to be a glimmer (and a small one at that), I would have to give it to Adele and that isn't giving her much. So'more was tired. As a matter of fact, her schtick was so tired, I fell asleep and woke up again for Mo'Nique. I should have continued to sleep.

What is an even sadder commentary is that the Kings didn't even resort to the crude humour these broads did. Oh they did their share of cursing and making references to sex but not to the level of tastelessness that these women did. What can I tell you, if you like to hear women talk about their sexcapades @ length and in detail (don't look for humour--there is none), this is your movie. If you want some good, thought out comedy, stick with the Kings. They live up to their name!

I finally found this after years of looking for it. I watched this with my barracks roommate back in 2001 when I was in the Army and I was laughing so hard that I was in tears! These ladies are by far some of the funniest female comedians I've ever seen. They all had their own things to gripe about, but Miss Laura Hayes was one of my favorites. Pick it up, you won't be dissatisfied.

4.0 out of 5 stars Queens Of Profanity, July 27, 2002

I think all of these ladies are Queens and true comedians but alot of the jokes was overshadowed and out done by all the unecessary vulgar language. We dont need to curse to prove that we are the sh!t. I think the material overall was real, down toearth and personal, meaning that most of us can relate. I enjoyed Sommore the most because the girl just has style and good stage presence and then I enjoyed Adele, then Monique and Miss Laura, well she was a bit dry, but in past performance she had me rolling so she still gets props. It's worth watching.

I laugh so hard everytime I watch this that it's bordering on obsessive! I have seen it countless times- I have the whole thing memorized!! And a word to those with a problem with the "adult" nature of the language- You should have paid a bit more attention to Adele Givens when she tackled that very subject!
