This review is from: Queen's Hall Light Orchestra (Audio CD)
This is the first in a series of CD's which re-issue some of the great Chappell mood music of the 1950's. Volume 2 is now available, and Volume 3 is in preparation with a release date of late 2002. The Queen's Hall Light Orchestra was the "house" orchestra of Chappell & Co., which provided "theme" or "mood" music to radio, motion pictures and television. The selections here are some of the most popular and recognizable of the Chappell library, having been meticulously researched and selected by David Ades of Britain's "Robert Farnon Society" There are several tracks by Mr.Farnon included, he having been a prolific contributor to Chappells in its hey-day. This series is a must buy for all lovers of British Light Music.
