5.0 out of 5 stars step into my vibe...
Now, I would have to say that this album is far more superior than that of the second or first soundtrack. I say this because of CD1. Now, CD 2 is more of a calmer CD, but is still a good combination of songs that are heard usually at the end of episodes of Queer As Folk Season III. But as far as CD 1 is concerned, the CD is hott!!! It is one of the best dance...

The first CD contains 8 songs and the second only contains 6 songs. The second CD (with 6 songs) has no dance music at all; it's more representative of the montage or thematic sections of the series. The first CD is mixed and more dance oriented, but while the mixing is good, there are only a few decent songs. If you don't like trance, you probably won't like most of the songs either. I like trance, club, house, euro, etc and the choice of the songs on CD 1 is average to less than average.

Frankly I'm very disappointed in this CD set. There is a lot of decent club music played in the series that didn't make it to this CD set and at only 14 songs, I fail to see why it needed to be on 2 discs (other than the obvious marketing appeal). Seems that the producers of this CD set are using the loyalty of the gay audience as an excuse to put out an inferior product.

I you like the songs played at "Babylon" or the other dance music found in the 3rd series of QAF, take note that you won't find them in this CD set.

3.0 out of 5 stars Three stars for the effort, not content, June 2, 2003
By
This review is from: Queer As Folk: Third Season (Dig) (Audio CD)
What can I say?
This two cd set features songs from the third season of our favorite "[...]", disc one featuring the "thumpa thumpa" sounds of Babylon while the second disc features music used for other scenes in the show, and "enhanced" with a Kirstine W. video which featured the cast.

That video, if you watch the show on Showtime regularly, has been played to death already and no doubt will be accompanying the upcoming third season dvd collection.

So how is the music?

Well....the problem is that, unlike the first season, it seems that they have ran out of good tunes for the show. In the first season, the songs they used not only complemented the scene, but vice versa...the music became crucial to setting the tone of the show, rather it is sexy and energetic (The Music), wickedly seductive (Straight to Number One), carefree abandonment (Forever Young), moments of quiet contemplation (Sleep, Ladybird), or just plain in-your-face exhibitionism (High School Confidential, More Effeminate Than You).

By the time we rolled to third season, most of the music have become generic and faded into the background. Listening to the two CD set I really for the life of me cannot place a finger on where from the show it appeared in....they just do not ring a bell or register a scene from the show.

And the one tune which I do remember...the sexy and funky number at the underwear party which Brian shanghaied Michael to....was left out. Considering how the two previous CDs seems to left out some really good tunes, I expected the exclusion. Perhaps Showtime should start listing the music again so I know where I can get it.

Till then, this CD will have to do. The music is not bad....but pales compare to the previous two collections, but they themselves have their own flaws. Perhaps it will grow on me in time.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mixed Bag, November 7, 2003

The season 1 CD was brilliant, season 2 out of date by the time it was released, season 3 this one, mmmmmm. The first Cd is all club tracks as we hear in Babylon but somewhat of a style departure from the club tracks of previous seasons. If you like a driving bass, the sort of mix Peter rauhofer gives to most things these days then this is the CD for you. Even the addition of Yoko Ono fits here. The second CD is the disappointment the choices are odd, I know they are the sort of thing we hear at the end of the show and thats great but please market seperately. I bought this for the dance music (same reason I bought season 1 and 2) if I had wanted a second CD of stuff I was listening to 20 years ago i would have bought something else.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Queer As Folk: Third Season (Dig) (Audio CD)
I don't know what the producers of this cd were thinking?! This is atrocious!!! This is why people in the U.S. treat this type of music as be second best because most of what they hear is crap like this, Ugly sounding Trance which is not what real Club/Dance is like! The two best songs "Never(Past Tense)" & "Some Lovin'" are here via tepid versions here (get the cd singles of "Some Lovin'" & "Never(Past Tense)" as they contain far superior mixes of the tracks. The 1st. two cd's were so much better than this. Please don't waste your hard earned money on this!!! I recommend these superior Club/Dance cd's,

Buy this CD just for CD 1 alone, because the tracks are hott. Though there are only 8 tracks on CD 1, it will leave you loving Queer As Folk and begging for more. The Yoko Ono track "Walking on Thin Ice" has an insane beat, and will keep you dancing for hours. The rest of the CD is hott too, but that's my favorite song. This is a must-buy for the true fans of dance music and the wonderful show for all of us gay men, Queer As Folk:)

5.0 out of 5 stars "From The Inside" is the BEST dance song of 2003/2004, February 17, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Queer As Folk: Third Season (Dig) (Audio CD)
The dance mix CD is EXCELLENT. Standout cuts for me were the first four songs. Never (Past Tense), At the End, Some Loving are all fantastic, but... "From the Inside" is THE BEST DANCE SONG I'VE HEARD since I bought this CD over a year ago. I can't get enough of it!! I could listen to it over and over! SUPERB! Worth the cost of the CD alone!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty much the ultimate Queer as Folk sdtk, August 17, 2005
This review is from: Queer As Folk: Third Season (Dig) (Audio CD)
One disc of continuous club mixes, and one disc of the more moody tracks used for the emotional moments in the show. Disc 1 only does it half right though. We get a couple of long versions, Kristine W (10:41), the Roc Project (the rare tiesto mix!!!) (6:36) and Gioia (the rare junior mix!!!) (8:15), but the rest of the tracks last under 5 minutes-and 30 minutes of disc space goes unused!!! This was a moment to shine, to give us 8 plus minutes of each of these dance songs in a continuous, 1 hour mix!!! Oh well...you'll have to pick up Club Babylon for that. And although this is TWO discs worth of music---disc 2 is only 32 minutes long!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Third season base hit for QAF, February 12, 2011
This review is from: Queer As Folk: Third Season (Dig) (Audio CD)
Why is everyone comparing to other seasons? Why are we complaining about two discs? The answer is simple, throw away the second disc, and enjoy the first. All songs are mixed together, and is a nonstop dance fest, club trance style. This is a total package on to itself, and I listen to this particular one more than the others if we are to drag (Drag) the other seasons into it.

I am going to go against the grain here and say that the second disc is better. I love the dance hits, and they are great in the show, but the second disc is the one that brings back memories of specific scenes from that season. I would have given it five stars, but there should have been more tracks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kik Ass Tunes (disc 1), August 9, 2004
This review is from: Queer As Folk: Third Season (Dig) (Audio CD)
I think i like the first disc more than the second. I am a huge fan of techno/trance/house. The IIO song is dope, along with ROC Project ft. Tina Arena "Past Tense". These songs are great grooving songs..they'll make you bust a groove. i recommend Alyssa Divines cd also :: repeat if necessary :: alyssadivine.tripod.com she spins house music also...check her out..she's dope! you won't be disappointed.
