A nice effort but not really very helpful,

This review is from: Queer Commentary and the Hebrew Bible (Library Hebrew Bible/Old Testament Studies) (Hardcover)
I needed some source material for a college essay on homosexuality and the Bible (I wanted to find a pro or at least a neutral position). Alas, this group of essays misses the mark. A nice start in at least attempting the research and analysis, but I didn't think it was an honest or anyway, informed, analysis. The writers seem to have tunnel vision and can't see the bigger picture of the Biblical theme as a whole, so they pick at it in pieces attempting to force the issue. In the long run, it isn't convincing. You can get some good placement of "postmodern" rhetoric, though, Judith Butler in particular, and weirdly enough, Sadism.
