5.0 out of 5 stars Rock on!
I too was expecting stereotypical gay music, head pounding techno and what not. What I found was the opposite, and very good! The remixes are wonderful, and Elton John adds a touch that Ted Allen could be proud of.

I am very happy with this purchase!

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay, I have to admit it...
I bought this CD for only one song... Duran Duran's "Sunrise - remix", the first new track from the original "Fab Five" in almost 20 years. That alone is worth having the disc. And yes, the TV show is hilarious too! So go get a patch of "Sunrise" and play it back to back with Sting's remix of "Send Your Love"...

Also contains the Chemical Brothers remix of "Slow" by Kylie. This was usually only available on vinyl that sold for $100.00 a copy. The film clip for "Slow" on the dvd is hot!!!!!!!

This is a killer collection of songs.
Look at the track listing. You will probably know and/or like at least one act listed there.
If you do, then I guarantee you that you will find a new song to love. You will discover another act. You will seek out their own CDs.
That is probably the highest praise one can give a compilation disc.
The title song is enjoyable fluff, "Move Your Feet" is insanely catchy, the new Duran Duran tune is great for us old DD fans.
I was already fond of the OK Go and Liz Phair songs...
Nice vintage Elton John track too.
The rest are interesting as well. My only disappointment is in the lackluster Sting remix.

So, if any of these tunes pique your interest, several others will as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars You should own this and better your life, February 10, 2004
This review is from: Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (Audio CD)
Even if this wasnt a tie in to the Hit show, this is recommended. A nice dance type Cd for the casual dance fan, good for driving/relaxing/shaking it around your newly remade living space in your new stylin clothes. The "Slow" remix is jarring to fans of the original, but good, the Elton John track broke big in the UK 25 years after it was released on back of a TV ad, the Basement Jaxx track is a good taste of the excellent Kish Kash CD, and its great to see Duran Duran back! Bonus material is quite good too. To agree with the Grumpy reviewer, some Justin Timberlake or that new JC Chavez track would have really fitted in here!

5.0 out of 5 stars The songs match the Fab Five..., February 3, 2005
This review is from: Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (Audio CD)
Both the show and the soundtrack keep in pace with each other, they are fast-paced, humorous, and energetic. One could listen to this CD at least a million times and be intoxicated with one song for each sitting. I personally love "Never Coming Home" by Sting and "Sunrise" by Duran Duran. It's only fitting for a devoted QE4theStr8Guy fan like myself to buy the CD, and personally I'm not dissapointed...despite the fact I did not have the chance to buy the limited edition album. I really love the music video! Dance Jai, Dance!

5.0 out of 5 stars A fabulous album filled with great music, February 22, 2004

This is a great colleciton of music for both fans of the TV show and for music lovers. It contains some great dance mixes including the theme song "All Things (Just Keep Getting Better)" by Widelife with Simone Denny, "You Promised Me" by InGrid, "Move Your Feet" by Junior Senior, "Good Luck" by Basement Jaxx featuring Lisa Kekaula, and a great song titled "Everybody Want You To Emerge" by Fischerspooner vs. Billy Squier. And, there's more than just dance mixes. They've included "Extraordinary" by Liz Phair, "Superstar" by Jamelia (pop/R&B), Sting, OK Go, Kylie Minogue, Prophet Omega, Elton John, and a new song from the original line up of Duran Duran.

The DVD that comes with the limited edition is equally good with a mini-making of for the video to "All Things (Just Keep Getting Better)," the video for Kylie Minogue's "Slow" and a dance video remix of Sting's "Send Your Love."

A great music collection for everyone!!

Even if this wasnt a tie in to the show, I would recommend this. A lot of good music here, for dancing/relaxing/driving. The "Slow" remix, which may take a bit to get used to if you are enamoured of the original, is good, the Elton John song broke thru in the UK 25 years after it was released, the Basement Jaxx track is a good teaser for the Kish Kash CD (Also recommended). Its good to see Duran Duran again, maybe this will get their next album on a major label. All in all, worthy of purchase. To agree with the Grumpy Reviewer, Some Justin Timberlake would only have made it better! Pick up on this.
