3.0 out of 5 stars Cop Off To This
Homosexuality has never been so funky. Manchester has never looked so sexy. Television has never been THIS good! QAF blew gay out the water. It guillotined the conservative claptrap which had previously plagued British television drama, and sent Mary Whitehouse scurrying out of retirement (she's always in-an-out of retirement, like some crazed cuckoo clock anyway, so...

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheers to the gay boys!!!, June 6, 2001
This review is from: Queer As Folk (Audio CD)
Finally, a gay dance cd thats more than just a disco diva remix! Who cares if its all a bunch of covers, this is a well constructed cd that sparkles with every track.....This is the kind of music that makes drag queens strut in their vintage Balenciaga cocktail frocks and Chelsea boys rip off their D&G muscle t-shirts and dance in a frenzy of pride...(PS - Also the BEST work-out cd in years!) Snatch it up now, boys and girls, and make this June the BEST Gay Pride Month ever!

The soundtrack and video tapes of Channel 4's smashing hit Queer As Folk go hand in hand in the same category: BRILLIANT! A wonderful blend of music, personalities and yes, life. A wonderful addition to any music collector and a "MUST" if you're "family".

5.0 out of 5 stars The Real treat of super funky and awesome music!, July 23, 2000

After I have seen the videos I immediately got the soundtrack and I wasn't disappointed. I knew that I would not be. You could hear the exciting tunes while watching the characters during the scenes in the original TV series. CD1 contains a main theme and great tracks "Sexy Boy" and "Mamma Mia"(Abbacadabra remix), "Uh la la la" by Alexia and others. CD2 is continious parade of remixes of songs that originally are sung by Bette Midler ("To Deserve You"), Fleetwood Mac ("Everywhere") and Kylie Minogue ("What do I Have To Do" and "Better Devil You Know").Here these and other songs are performed by great singers-immitators . They are fantastic! This CD is great for parties and it's great for your car and it's great for a beach.....

4.0 out of 5 stars UK Dance At Its Best!, January 24, 2001
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Queer As Folk (Audio CD)
After catching the American version of this UK television series, I was anxious to see if the US had released a soundtrack. The UK had!! I was surprised to see that America actually uses some of the same music that you'll find on this CD collection. Remixed American pop hits and retro-smooth dancestyle music that may sound a little old for those of you who venture out to the clubs every week, but if you love dance music anyway then this is a must-have for your collection. I bought both CD sets and they played in the car forever!

I picked up Vol 2 - from the second installment of the series - last spring in London and it is the BEST, GAYEST music ever. Even people who don't like dance music like it.

I bought Vol 1 and wasn't as excited by it - it's no doubt great, but Vol 2 is so superior to everything else......

"Queer as Folk" is a British TV series which chronicles the shenanigans of 3 young gay men. Many sequences from the show take place in steamy dance clubs in the UK which surround these characters in the latest thumping beats. These are all assembled in one collection on this 2 CD set. You will NOT be disappointed with this purchase at all. Order it NOW!
