When I first heard of "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," I thought "Geez, another trashy reality show." However, when I finally did tune in, I was charmed by the warmth and humor of the Fab Five and their good natured make-overs. Plus, I got some really good home and personal grooming tips! The 2004 calendar carries on in the same style--sassy, yet classy. Each of the QE team has their own photo month, with group shots for the other seven months. The calendar is also useful, with large date squares and an easy to view layout. Along one edge of each month are photos from one of the straight guy projects, as well as the famous Fab Five tips for better living. I was wondering if this wall calendar would fit in at my office, but, you know, it's just photos of nice looking men in suits that fit. What's not to like? I am having one sent to my mom today.

I have been an avid "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" fan since they burst from their respective closets to the spotlight of Hollywood.I also collect wall calendars dealing with Pop Culture. So when I saw this wall walendar while shopping with two of my girlfriends (how fitting!) last Christmas, I just couldn't shake off the giddiness that penetrated my body. So I had to get it (it was also selling for a reasonable price). This wall calendar is stylishly designed with a classical look of black and white borders and fonts (with the occassional red and orange), finished in a smooth and durable quality paper. Each month features each of the Fab Five connoisseur with the exceptions of some group photos, one of which I particularly loved: The Month of September on which shows five of them doing the famous Beatles walk (or in their case, doing the funny version of the Beatles walk). Speaking of funny, since we all know that February had passed a long time ago, I still find myself turning back the pages into that particular month, a final validation that I am completely enamored with Kyan. That is, next Christmas I want a Kyan lifesize doll! Moving on, this calendar also features their trademark tips and advices, all done in snappy and good-humoured nature. This can be of a tremendous helpful nature, particularly to those of us who don't have the time and money, because they are informative and actually works. Overall, a great wall calendar that not only showcases a helpful look to keep track of our daily lives, elegantly designed, but also five men who made a television milestone.

Well, if you watch the show, then you'll recognize that the tips in the calendar are nothing new. But with the wonderful photos, who could pass this up? Awesome stuff :)
