5.0 out of 5 stars sweet
Carla blends lullaby-esque melodies, acoustic rhythm, and fast sonorous french lyrics to create an absolutely peaceful, catchy, brilliant album. I definitely recommend it, even if you do not speak french!

3.0 out of 5 stars Pleasant but not great
This album is pleasant enough when heard in small doses. Ms Bruni has a reasonable pop voice and she doesn't do anything annoying - nor does she do anything terribly adventurous!

I've heard this album around ten times in my workplace and I would be quite happy if I never heard it again. It is okay as background music but I don't think I'd ever bother buying...

4.0 out of 5 stars a heartfelt effort, December 30, 2004

This is a good album by Carla Bruni. I was surprised to hear that she was a supermodel, I had no idea. Her voice is very sensual and she accomplishes the atmosphere that she seems to want to create. The music and lyrics are well crafted and tastfuly composed. Nothing fancy, just good tunes. Most of the songs are in the same key however, and the album can begin to sound monotonous. The highlights are "Quelqu'Un M'a Dit" , and track 6...I can't remember the name. If you like Aimee Mann, you will enjoy this album....

I think Paris Combo are making the best French pop I've heard recently (not that I've heard a lot!).

I should also add that some of Ms Bruni's songs never seem to go anywhere - the verse/chorus/verse/chorus thing seems to be 'on auto-pilot' a lot of the time. She also seems to be content to simply sound cute and/or French in some of the songs. This just ain't enough for me! I am too old, too jaded and too cynical to get excited by a woman with a sexy accent alone.
