Great Fun & Outstanding Engineering,

Gave this to my 6 year old for his birthday. I helped him to construct it from the clear (no reading) directions along with my 10-year old daughter. The pieces go together flawlessly - the engineering of the plastic is superb. The elevator works as designed and the battery pack (2xAA) connects via a short cord - very convenient. He has already spent many hours playing with it!

We had previously purchased the Quercetti 80 piece marble run and had a lot of fun with it. Want to build more complicated runs we got the 180 piece with the motorized elevator. We thought with 180 pieces we could build much larger marble runs, boy where we disappointed... As soon as I got the package from Amazon and read the outside of the box I felt duped in the count of 180 pieces counts each link in the chain to make up the elevator , by the time you count all the parts to complete the elevator the marble run isn't much if any bigger than the 80 piece, it just has an elevator.

My son really likes his marble run - especially the elevator! I'm so glad we spent the extra money on it. It's very easy to assemble and both my kids have a lot of fun working the elevator and watching the marbles in the vortex. It seems pretty sturdy (needs to be re-leveled at times), although a 1 year old can easily destroy it if they get the chance. (I found that out when my neighbor's 14 month old caught hold of it) So, if you have other little ones, keep it out of their reach for that reason and because of the choking hazard with the marbles. My only real complaint is that the directions didn't come with more layouts. (We did come up with our own that worked quite well though!) Overall, great educational toy to have on hand. Stores easily in its box.

This is an awesome toy. I bought it for my kids and they love it. They played with it for hours. Easy to build and easy instructions. Would definetly buy it again and may even buy a second one.

My kids - 3 and 6 yrs - are ecstatic about this toy. They leap with wonder and joy!! Really, they do make a lot of noise around this toy!! I myself love to watch the different paths the marbles can follow, and take my hats off to the people for this toy. Of course, GET THE ELEVATOR, since this makes all the difference.
Building the toy is fun...with a little patience. You have to do it from a 'fully constructed' picture only which makes it a little trying. But as somebody who likes puzzles this is fun. My elder kid also thinks so!! There are three examples, all as completed pictures. But that is not a impossible task at all.!!! Of course a toy like this is a little wobbly if pushed this-way and that. And your excited kids may not fully realise that, and many a times our towers have fallen under such conditions!!! But considering my 6 yr old can put it back together from the larger pieces makes this a somewhat smaller problems. On the whole, the toy is full self contained, no extra additions required with respect to the version I bought - WITH ELEVATOR - and is worth every penny. Did I say this was their Christmas gift? It's been a HIT!!!!!

We had a simpler and earlier Quercetti marble run. This was an upgrade/add-on, and well worth it. The motorized elevator keeps the action going. A five year old will need help setting up, but can operate the final run easily. Safe pieces, easy construction and good directions. Fun, even for the adults.

The idea for this toy is great but the implementation not so good. The chain that you put together that pulls the elevator is the worst because you snap all of the links together only to discover that they give you too many links for it to fit snugly around the gears. Then, when you pull it apart to take out some pieces, the plastic stretches and the chain perpetually breaks. The plastic is so lightweight and the assembly to flimsy that it breaks again and again. If continuous fixing is your child's idea of fun, or your idea of an "educational toy," then maybe this is for your family, but for my kids it was frustrating.

My 6-year-old received this marble run as a gift from her uncle. I'm amazed at how easy it was to assemble and at how well the elevator works. It's mesmerizing to watch and my 3-year-old is also getting a kick out of it; she keeps shouting "They're going to the fair!" (referring to the marbles who look like they are getting on a ferris wheel). It's refreshing, too, to see a well-made plastic toy these days - the parts are solid and fit together easily. The product is made in Italy - and it shows.

I spent several months trying to find a marble run with a motorized elevator that was affordable and not a piece of junk. I bought and returned a differenet brand before hearing about Quercetti. This one has additional features that add to the stability of the structure. There are pieces in the tower structures to slip the ends of the spiral side tracks into. There is also a large clip to hold the two tallest sections together. There are a couple of configurations possible with this set.
A feature I really liked is that the switch for the motor can be unplugged and put away without taking apart the entire set. I thought the directions could use a few more pictures to explain the bottom of the motorized portion. Also, the pieces in the kit are not the same colors as the pieces in the directions. Overall, I recommend this set.

We all enjoy the marble run, adults and children alike. My six year old daughter is fascinated by it. I have to help her build it. It takes about 30 to 60 minutes to put a big run together. The instructions are only a photograph, no words. These instructions just show ideas of what you can do because you really can build any configuration you want to. I can't imagine the run without the elevator as it keeps the marbles in continuous motion, which becomes mesmerizing. The pieces fit together well. When constructed it is a little shaky and not as sturdy as I thought it would be so I would not recommend it for kids under 4 (small parts, too). Also, I thought 180 pieces would be a lot, but it's not. It might be fun to get another set and build on!
