Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

A chance meeting in the Tuscany woods with an old man claiming to be the poet Virgil launches a young American tourist on a desperate quest through the past for the trapped spirit of Apollo in order to prevent the world's imminent destruction. First novelist Lahey's attention to historic detail and his easy humor make this otherwise predictable fantasy a worthwhile purchase for large fantasy collections.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful mix of history, comedy, and greek mythology, December 26, 1998

This review is from: Quest for Apollo (Paperback)
This is a story of an American writer who encounters the legendary Virgil in the woods of Italy. He is taken on a wonderful trip through time, and sees ancient cities and empires. Their quest is to find the God Apollo, and if they fail, the world will be destroyed. It is a wonderful story, with fast paced action. The author also manages to slip in tidbits of knowledge concerning each era that the characters stumble into. A wonderful book that I never tire of. Full of vivid imagery and humorous adventures. A real surprise ending.
