5.0 out of 5 stars Quest for Camalot
The sound track for this movie is out standing and is very enjoyable. In fact I like this sound track with its great inspiranal music track. I listen to the music all the time and enjoy all of the fine artists on the track. This movie was vasly underated. And the thing that really made the movie was the track. The music was very uplifting and made you want to sing...

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good for not being Disney
I was scared but I bought it anyway, even though I hadn't yet seen the movie. The music is actually pretty good, especially Steve Perry's "I stand alone" and Celine Dion's "prayer." The rest of it ain't half bad either if you can stomach the animation-type. Not quite Disney, but still pretty good!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great soundtrack!, May 22, 2000

I bought this CD long before I ever saw the movie. While I hated the movie because of the weak story and bad animation, I LOVED the soundtrack! I brought this because it has 3 of my favorite singers: Celine Dion, LeAnn Rimes, and Bryan White. I was not disappointed at all. Celine's version of "The Prayer" and LeAnn's "Looking Through Your Eyes" are very emotional and beautiful. Bryan White really surprised me on this album. He sounds 100% better in pop music than country. The song he sings, "I Stand Alone," is what made me a Bryan White fan. It's one of my all time favorite songs. I urge anybody who likes GOOD music to buy this CD.

4.0 out of 5 stars More worthy than face value!, August 11, 2000
This review is from: Quest For Camelot: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
I've got my own taste in music, and with decades of professional music in my blood, it takes a lot to appease me. For the most part, this CD did just that.

LeAnn Rimes is from my hometown. No favoritism, but as she's matured, her voice has blossomed into a beautiful, soulful crossover country/pop sound. Her version of Looking Through Your Eyes is gentle, and starts the CD off on the "young love" theme of the entire album. Likewise - the version with Andrea Corr and Bryan White is perfectly matched. A sweet, youthful female voice coupled with the innocent sound from Mr.White.. do you WANT a boisterous tenor to sing? No... the song is about young love, and this is superb. This is to be put onto my wedding video!

Celine Dion's version of The Prayer.. imagine a mother having to let go of her child. Letting her daughter grow up and face the world on her own, wanting to protect her so... praying for someone above to watch over her baby. "Help me to let go.." Celine sings. She holds back from her usual vibrance in this one, but it is simply for the feeling and emotion of the meaning of the lyric. She is truly versatile. As well as Andrea Bocelli... this was not THEIR CD, but a soundtrack from movie. His version gives the final denoument, leaving you wanting to hear more by the last note.

Steve Perry gives his ruggedly toned voice to the album, and the pieces are great. The bohdran in United We Stand gives the Celtic feel that the movie carries over into music.

The Corrs.. simply fantastic of course. On My Father's Wings - youthful, a young lass out on her own, wishing she could make her father proud. Her siblings play the tin whistle, violin, and bohdran again, and once again give the Celtic feel to the tune.

Ruber is a bit interesting to get through, and takes a few listens to really hear it thru, but is purely from the character's evil personality in the movie. Kinda fun to hear what he speaks of as the song goes on! One of my friend's children LOVES this one.

If I Didn't Have You - you HAVE to have comical relief, and this is it. Doesn't give the impact that the movie does (how could a song compare to the sight of a two headed dragon?), but it IS quite funny to listen to.

Patrick Doyle gives the battle instrumentals a good go - very well done, not to the par of the great soundtrack gurus John Williams, James Horner, or Foster, but nice. Foster's Instrumental.. no words required. Brilliant, and the innocence returns to the score.

See the movie, listen to the music... all in all, a VERY good pickup!

This is a teriffic CD. I am a pretty big fan of Celine Dion and LeAnn Rimes and I believe that thier performances on this album are really great. The Corrs and Bryan White also did very well. The music goes along with the movie's situations wonderfully; like "On my Father's Wings" goes with Kayley's dream of becoming more than what she is and Celine's "The Prayer" goes along with a mother's prayer that her child will be safe and find their way through hard times. Anyway, this is a great Soundtrack and I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars United These Songs Stand Together (on this soundtrack), June 3, 2006
This review is from: Quest For Camelot: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
I got this soundtrack last summer, which was used, so the CD case was scratched, and the frontcover was gone, and it looked ratty, if u know wat I mean. But once I listened to the soundtrack, it totally made up for the beat-up CD case!

My Rating List
1)Looking Through your eyes 6/10: Um,it was better when Kayley and Garrett sang it.I didn't like how the lyrics were changed, and the country tune kinda ruined it.

2)I Stand Alone 2/10: God, Steve Perry sounded like he was howling in pain, and that he was going to burst into tears any moment! Garrrett was WAAAAAAY better, and I didn't like the lyrics being changed in this song either.

3)The Prayer 10/10: Totally touching. Celine Dion, you deserve a cheering crowd of mothers with their children!

4)United We Stand 9/10: Awesome Irish tune. But...the singing was corny. Who cares? 2 thumbs up to the fiddler and the woodwind players!

5)On My Father's Wings 10/10: Perfect for any girl who looks up to their fathers. Andrea Corr totally put her soul into this song!

6)Looking Through Your Eyes 10/10: It was SO romantic and beautiful! I was crying because I was so touched! One of my favorites!

7)Ruber 8/10: You call that singing? Ruber was yelling almost the whole time! However, I liked the background instrumentals. I found this more satisfying than the first two songs on this soundtrack. But please, just don't bellow like that in my ears, unless if you're singing an awesome song that falls into the heavy metal/goth music genre.

8)I Stand All Alone 10/10: I LOVED THIS SONG! I loved watching Garrett go through the unique surroundings of the forbiddon forest as he sings. He has a very clear and nice voice. Try and beat that, Steve Perry!

9)If I didn't Have You 10/10: It's SO funny! However, I think peoople should see the movie before listening to this song otherwise they may not understand it.

10)Forbidden Forest/Dragon Attack: 1/10: Ho-hum. What a bore. I can't even force myself to listen to this whole song. In addition, I don't like the loud beginning. I don't recommend this song.

11)The Battle 10/10: A little more interesting than the previous song, but still a bore. Can someone please pass me a blanket? I think the sandman just came to visit me...*snores*

12)Looking THrough Your Eyes (Instrumental) 10/10: I think its really pretty. It totally sounds something you would here being played by some volunteering musicians play at a really fancy restaurant.

13)The Prayer 9/10: Really good, but why does this have a bit of the melody from "Looking THrough Your Eyes"?

This is a good soundtrack for anybody who loves the movie, Quest For Camelot! It nearly makes up for a wrecked CD case. But it was nearly a year ago when I got this, so it's not as impressive as it used to be. But 5 stars, anyway.

The greattest songs ever written in 1998 came from the movie Quest For Camelot. With a touch of comedy and romance, the soundtrack brings as many laughs and smiles as the movie does. With a touch of the greattest songwritting ever, this soundtrack is really #1.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good music, and a lot of good artists., May 3, 1999

I recommend this CD for all the fans of the movie, no matter what their age. I am sixteen myself, with a wide range of tastes from techno to country. Looking Through Your Eyes is Leann Rime's best song, and Bryan White and Steve Perry make I Stand Alone sound great. The Prayer by the Italian guy is good, even if it is in another language. Great movie, great soundtrack!

5.0 out of 5 stars It touches the heart, July 2, 1998

I recently lost my dad and all of the songs revolve around a girl who has just lost her dad and is trying to 'find' herself. She's looking for independance, and I can totally relate to that. I especially love 'The Prayer' and 'My Father's Wings'. They are truly inspiring.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good CD, November 26, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Quest For Camelot: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
The best songs on this album are "Looking Through Your Eyes" a duet with Bryan White and Andrea Corr(The Corrs). This song is touching and these two singers portray the characters emotions beautifully. Another great song is "I Stand Alone" again by Bryan White also I recommend "On My Father's Wings" by the Corrs. "The Prayer" is a beautiful song that is worth a listen. "If I Didn't Have You" is a funny song, that'll have you laughing. However, I highly recommend skipping the first song on the album. You know, the pop version of "Looking Through Your Eyes," the singer doesn't quite capture the beauty and emotion of this wonderful song.
