4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Book for the Aspiring Christian, March 26, 2000
Chuck Swindoll's "Quest For Character" is an easy-to-understand, comprehensive look at what it is to be more like Christ. He focuses on specific areas that Christians (and nearly any human) struggle with, and provides informative, encouraging, wise words on what to strive for in life, as well as what not to strive for. For example, the first chapter focuses on the Big Four: Power, Pleasure, Fortune, and Fame. These are things, Swindoll explains, that we should not seek, although many of us do...

Overall, Swindoll's book is great, a must-read, and worthy of being read over several times. I am surprised it is so 'unheard of' and hope that you will give it a try. I highly recommend this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Busy Persons devotion, May 22, 2001
By
Deborah L. Owens (Richfield, Oh USA) - See all my reviews
For those that are looking for a quick, easy read that highlights the issues we all have in common- busy lives, the perils of procrastination, the need to slow down,th impact of friends, the heart aches of death - etc. This book provides a keen insight into what the Bible says and how it related to each of our lives. A great book for daily - or in my case weekend devotions.
