Unfortunate Anti-Christian bias,
By
This review is from: Transformers Armada: The Quest (Turtleback School & Library Binding Edition) (DK Readers: Level 4 (Prebound)) (School & Library Binding)
The Transformers and the story, my child understands, are fictitious and enjoys them as such. However, in the margins of each page in book are a series of "facts" in an attempt to add educational value to the book. On page 28 of this book, my son showed my wife and I something that was disturbing to him. There are two such "facts" on this page, one claiming that Poseidon WAS the Greek god of the sea, and another identifying the Biblical account of Noah's flood as a famous MYTH.
As a person of faith, I wonder why this veiled attack on the Bible and God was necessary in a book targeted at children. As with so many things in the world today, this book (and any book in the DK Readers series such as this) needs to be carefully screened, because as we found out, there's "more than meets the eye".
