His appetite for adventure whetted by an earlier voyage to the south in a homemade sailing canoe, Dana Lamb decided to investigate the mysterious city of ancient palaces rumored to exist in the jungled interior.
Lamb and his wife plunged into the search with the enthusiasm and energy that brought them through their earlier experience. But this time there were no friendly beaches, no sparkling water, no open sea. This time they plowed through canopied forests, malarial swamps and a hostile environment that nearly drained them of their resolve.
