Enjoyable Second Helping!,

As the facilitator for a Christian Book Club, I am always looking for selections that our members will find enjoyable and challenging. We hit the jackpot with Nancy Moser's "The Invitation," and we couldn't wait until the the second in the series made its debut. It was well worth the wait! The old, familiar characters are back, with more depth and substance. In addition, we are introduced to new characters who are just as intriguing. Again, the Biblical lessons are very clear, but not "preachy," and the emphasis on prayer is of particular note. Our club consensus was unanimous: we can't wait for #3!

I'm puzzled by the reviewer who called this book "cute" and the spiritual warfare aspect "amateurish." I found the book impossible to put down and actually liked it even better than its predecessor, "The Invitation." Nancy Moser effectively brings home the reality of evil in the world. The scenes in which the villain, Bo Tenebri, begins to show his true colors are chilling. In my opinion, this book deserves a place right up there on the shelf with the best of Frank Peretti's spiritual warfare classics.

this book has opened my eyes in many ways, firstly it helped me understand the Bible verses the way they should be, to overcome the devil and kick his butt!!Praise God for giving us writers like Nancy! she brings out the reality of people with so much ease..not to mention the humour, there were times i actually laughed out a bit too loud and then had to look around to see if someone saw me laugh!! God Bless u Nancy...

The characters are real, the dialogue witty, and the tension between good and evil gripping (if you like Peretti's books, you'll love this one). I read it in one day and immediately wanted more. I look forward to a third book in the Mustard Seed series. May God use this book to reach millions!

I finally got this book in the mail, and read it in twenty-four hours. I simply could not put it down. After reading The Invitation, I was eager to see how the Havenites fared in fulfilling their callings. They seemed to have varying degrees of success. I thought one of the demons illustrated how evil and sin can seem attractive at first, but the enemy eventually shows its true colors. This book (as well as the one before and after) will keep me thinking about its lessons and characters for a long time to come.

I realy liked the first of this series, The invitation. The second takes the characters to a higher level. There are many twists and turns in the plot and it reads very quickly because it deals with different plot lines that all blend together.

Disappointed.....,

I found this book to be very disappointing compared to the first in the series. I loved The Invitation because the characters were very believable. This book however seemed to be competing with itself as to which character could have the most outrageous thing happen. The dialogue with the angels was neat, but the spiritual warfare part of it seemed almost amateur. Cute book, but overall I was far more impressed by the first one.
