This review is from: Questions about Questions: Inquiries Into the Cognitive Bases of Surveys (Paperback)
Great book to use in conjunction with a critical thinking course. I use it with undergraduate students and it helps them become more cognizant of the power of words; how questions can be constructed to lead to a desired answer; how answers can be framed to fit an agenda; how ambiguous words and phrases can lead to useless and/or spurious conclusions; how words or phrases can become 'loaded' and trigger an emotional, not intellectual, response; as well as strategies for developing questions that avoid some of the major problem outlined above. Good book for anyone interested in becoming a better consumer of information.
