Grade 3-6?Lots of quick facts for dinosaur lovers, presented in a question-and-answer format. Which ones had horns? Which were the fastest? Sidebars and captions with pointers indicating highlights in the illustrations fill out the main text. The casual format sometimes includes sloppy statements. The negative answer to "Could dinosaurs swim?" seems a bit too definitive, excluding those who may have floated, waded, or hunted in the water. "Which were the deadliest dinosaurs?" covers Tyrannosaurus, of course, and Spinosaurus is briefly mentioned?but there is no mention of Allosaurus or Deinonychus, the clawed horror of Jurassic Park fame. Pages on giant species do not discuss Ultrasaurus or Seismosaurus. The inclusion of simple experiments may help readers understand concepts like aerodynamics, but the crafty-type exercises, e.g., dino potato prints, come across as filler.
