A MUST-HAVE Resource for Parents and Educators,
By
This review is from: 100 Questions & Answers About Your Child's Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (100 Questions & Answers about . . .) (Paperback)
A must-have resource for parents and educators of children with ADHD.
I have been an educator for over ten years, and have been exposed to countless books and resources about ADHD. Most of them, I have found, either bore you with excessive neuropsychological jargon, shower you with unpractical strategies, or both. I have yet to read a book about ADHD that I would recommend to parents and colleagues. Until now, that is! I was delighted to read "100 Questions & Answers About Your Child's Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder." Dr. Nass and Dr. Leventhal have penned an informative, well-written book that is both comprehensive and concise. The format is extremely reader-friendly, and makes it possible, with a straightforward table of contents and complete index, to return to the book for a quick reference. The authors left no stone unturned in their efforts to produce a thoroughly researched, carefully presented resource that is replete with current findings and practical (yes, practical!) strategies to help children with ADHD improve their academic performance. I was particularly impressed with the "Medication and ADHD" section; Dr. Nass and Dr. Leventhal provide more than enough information to help parents make informed decisions about ADHD medications. I HIGHLY recommend this book! My grade: 100 percent for "100 Questions and Answers About Your Child's ADHD."

This review is from: 100 Questions & Answers About Your Child's Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (100 Questions & Answers about . . .) (Paperback)
This book is excellent. Its format is vastly different from a thick textbook. Important points are highlighted. You can surf the index and read a Q and A. You can easily skip those Q&As that are not germane to your interests. The book is fact oriented with no longwinded technical discussions. One of the co-authors is a practicing neurologist which is not the norm for authors of such books (no offense to PhDs). I consider this book the most authoritative in ADHD literature. It's my best find this year. jw

This book answered a lot of questions I didn't think to or have the courage to or get the time to ask my doctor. In particular, I learned a lot about medications. I feel much more knowledgeable and when it comes to my child, what could be more important?
