5.0 out of 5 stars Questions and Answers on Conversations With God, August 5, 2002
This review is from: Questions and Answers on Conversations with God (Paperback)
Between 1995 and 1998, Neale Donald Walsch published the Conversations With God trilogy, three books in which he recorded the answers God gave him to particular questions that he asked. Millions of copies of the trilogy have been sold, and many readers have written to Walsch with questions about his "uncommon dialogue."

In Questions and Answers on Conversations with God, Walsch has compiled a selection of readers' letters, along with his answers. In his introduction, Walsch says "when you read these letters, don't be surprised if you find a bit of yourself here. All of us, after all, are asking the same questions. All of us are looking, in our own way from our own perspective, at the same issues."

He has divided the letters into 16 chapters, based on the kind of question asked. People want to know about how to "be" rather than "do," how to pray or meditate, whether angels exist, why evil exists, and why some of us are afflicted with physical or mental health problems. They also are interested in discussing various points made in the original trilogy and its overall affect on their lives.

Walsch emphasizes in all his responses that he is the one offering the answers in the book--that unlike the trilogy, it is not God who is providing the answers. He says that those who want answers from God need only to do what he did originally--simply ask God. As he explains, "all of the answers, God said, are inside of me. All I have to do is go within. That's all any of us have to do. Go within, and meet the Creator. For within us is where God resides."

Nevertheless, he does attempt to answer the questions and challenges posed, and does so with love sprinkled with humor. He expands upon some of the information presented in the trilogy and offers additional insights. Walsch doesn't give people specific advice, but rather urges them to look within and do what it is that is best for them to do in any given circumstance. Time and time again, he reminds readers that God is compassionate and loving and does not make judgments or punish us.

Questions and Answers is an excellent companion to the Conversations With God trilogy. It's also useful as a study guide, either by individuals or in a study group.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Review & Short Version of Major Principles, December 31, 1999
By
This review is from: Questions and Answers on Conversations with God (Paperback)
This book is a great review for all CWG readers/followers/believers. It simplifies some of the major principles/theories and may help you understand what you may not have before. Also, other people's questions are often your own!

4.0 out of 5 stars A good companion, November 20, 2008
This review is from: Questions and Answers on Conversations with God (Paperback)
I have enjoyed the Conversations with God trilogy and the various books related to them. Questions and Answers is very helpful. I have come across many people who have had questions relating to the trilogy and this book answers those questions. I recommend this book as an ideal companion to the CWG trilogy.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you liked CWG 1,2&3 you will love this too., November 27, 1999
This review is from: Questions and Answers on Conversations with God (Paperback)
This volume puts CWG into practice. In a compilation of the most genuine questions about the application of the teachings in CWG, Neale shows his total command of the teachings as he relates them to each personal question.

This is at least as impressive as the CWG trilogy itself. Neale shows how the CWG philosophy can be put into action and how it relates to our everyday problems. He also shows how CWG holds up to the scrutiny of everyday philosophers as they try to understand apparently conflicting information from their own experiences.

This is a work of great compassion and blindingly brilliant spirituality.

I didn't dare expect that Neale could top the CWG trilogy, but this is every bit as satisfying.

Thank you Neale.

This is one of the best spiritual/metaphysical/philosophical books ever written. I have searched long and read many books and very few pass my spiritual and intellectual criteria. This is a very rare treasure. If you like any of the following, you will like this book.

I searched long and hard for the truth and these titles represent the best and highest truth I can envision. I therefor share them with you here. If you are a seeker like me, you have found paydirt!

My top picks are:

* Conversations with God (CWG) - books 1, 2, & 3 - Neale Donald Walsch

* Questions and Answers on Conversations with God - Neale Donald Walsch

* Emmanuel's Book - books 1, 2, & 3

* Christ in You - anonymous

The next 4 are by the same author:

* The Impersonal Life - anonymous

* The Way Out - anonymous

* Brotherhood - anonymous

* The Way to the Kingdom - anonymous

* a Course in Miracles (somewhat dense and voluminous, but wonderful)

These volumes contain the most amazingly deep truths and are all consistent with each other.

Love and Peace,

Daniel

5.0 out of 5 stars Great books--ignore the Christians who are close-minded and feel threatened by thought, May 16, 2010
By
Neale Donald Walsch and all of his Conversations with God books are amazing. The only reason his books ever get poor reviews is because of the onslaught of fearful Christians who believe they're taking a stand against something horrible for the misguided reason that it threatens/challenges their beliefs. But where would the world be if no one questioned anything? Books that condone freedom always scare those that are afraid of losing control. It seems to me that the people that are afraid to lose control are fearful that if these ideas of freedom are introduced to them or others that they will all be forfeiting their free-will and might unwillingly accept or be convinced of ideas that they don't want themselves or others to accept or be convinced of. These people are probably afraid that this book's ideas may cause them to lose control over themselves or their children or their spouses or strangers--but I believe that these types of people do not give enough people enough credit. These people seem to believe that the majority of the world is not good and that the majority of people will wreak havoc when given freedom. I disagree. Additionally, the underlying message of this book is LOVE. There is nothing threatening about this book nor the type of freedom it presents. SO...if you've grown tired of the limits of organized religion or you feel like something is missing spiritually, try something totally different on for size, READ HIS BOOKS! You don't have to agree with everything, so why not give unconventional thought a chance? Take what feels right and leave out all the rest. Who knows, you might learn something or discover a new perspective.

1.0 out of 5 stars Morality is relative ?, July 1, 2005
This review is from: Questions and Answers on Conversations with God (Paperback)
I enjoyed most of Walsch's first book, but I don't think he needed to write the same book over and over after that, with slight changes about what, 6 or 7 times? But this book shows a rather disturbing side of Walsch. When asked about the holocaust, he said it was extremely hard for him to deal with that subject, being sensitive to the victim's surviving relatives. And yet when a woman asks about his opinion of rape, he has no problem callously trivializing THIS issue at all! Well, according to Neale, it used to be legal to rape your wife a long time ago, so since society's idea of morality changes all the time, it's all relative, who's to say it's right or wrong? WOW!
I think the one thing that one can do that goes against the harmony of Love and God is to abuse another human being, especially when it violates their free will. All the great philosophers of spirituality agree on this, but I guess Neale's god doesn't believe in the Golden Rule.

There was once a man on Earth who knew that he had once again been framed and remembered the face of every man who put him there. However he turned to his God and forgave them.

1.0 out of 5 stars The Easy Way Out, December 11, 2004
This review is from: Questions and Answers on Conversations with God (Paperback)
For any people who were brought up Christian or have previously attempted to be Christian - this book could be a welcome relief for the lost. I personally have tried throughout my life to get close to God, I knew he was there I just couldn't get near enough. For a while I held Neale Donald Walsch's opinions in very high stead, this path I fear I must warn people is yet another dead end.

I have been let down and felt unwanted by many churches and many Christians. At one point I almost lost touch completely with my faith. The Bible was old and irrelevant, but above all I was alone. That is, apart from my Lord Jesus Christ. It took me a while to realise that all these negative experiences were not Christ, and that although Walsch's book provided comfort to me for a short time, it was meaningless when compared with Christ and His love for me.

I realised that Christianity isn't easy, religion is sometimes difficult - but maybe this is the time when we, God's people, have to do something. After all we have been given so much already.

I would like to warn everyone against Walsch's seemingly reader-friendly guide. Indeed, it does not straightforwardly condemn Christ (now that would not make a popular book), but I believe it belittles greatly Jesus' achievements - the fact that Christ died for the world, He sacrificed Himself for every single human being. The book promotes 'self' rather than Christian teachings of loving others (now we can all guess the easier option and which one people will pay to hear). Walsch is forever providing the easy choice, the feel-good plan - I assure you that any joy found in this book (or the second and third volumes) is false, a fact that will be proven in its short-term effect.

I do not, of course, expect anyone whether Christian or not, to believe my words - indeed I would be worried if they were taken onboard unquestioningly. All I ask is that you are wary of seemingly easy, quick fix answers to faith - there is no such thing. Closeness to God comes through being with God, so why not ask Him for guidance? The Lord knows far more than Neale Donald Walsch or myself.

1.0 out of 5 stars Which GOD?, November 2, 2006

God has already written a book. It is called the Holy Bible. Which god wrote this book? Mr. Walsch should not be so deceitful.
