3.0 out of 5 stars Crohn disease
Not as helpful as thought it would be since 100 questions and answers.
But any information is better than nothing to help on concerns.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best resources I've read, March 24, 2008
This review is from: 100 Questions & Answers About Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis: A Lahey Clinic Guide (Paperback)
This book is an invaluable resource for me. I borrowed it from the library then decided to purchase a copy. My 2.3 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with UC and this book touched on just about everything I wanted to know. Although she is very young and the info on children was small, I gained a lot of important information about every aspect from symptoms, diagnosis, treatments and surgery to her future in dealing with this disease and possiblity of her increased risk of cancer. In between are true accounts of people with both Crohn's and UC and their experiences with different medicines, flare-ups and emotional issues. What I came away realizing is that IBD is unique for each person and along with the many options for managing symptoms and flare-ups, how well a person's chance to remain in remission will depend on the individual and how they respond both mentally and physically. There are no quick fixes nor are there magic combinations that work for everyone. There are also no guarantees that you can eliminate flare-ups or predict when you may have them. But you can become aware of your body, your options, your triggers and your outlook. If you are looking for an up to date resource for a newly diagnosed UC or CD I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars 100 Questions and Answers about Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, December 15, 2007
This review is from: 100 Questions & Answers About Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis: A Lahey Clinic Guide (Paperback)
This book has most of the answers to the questions about these horrible diseases. Dr. Warner is our doctor and is very dedicated and knowledgeable.
The book gives information in a concise and informative manner. I have given copies to people I know who have these diseases in the hope that they will become informed health consumers. Everyone has been very thankful for the information.

This book is extremely helpful in answering questions you may have and some you may not have thought to ask. Highly recommended as one of the top two layperson-oriented books to read if you have Crohn's or colitis.

This book answered so many of my questions, and helped make me confident in treating my crohns disease. I was also encouraged to join a support group where I could seek help and also help others. Finding the site http://crohnssociety.com has also helped me a lot. Overall this book has changed the way I live and made me realize this disease in manageable with some knowledge.

5.0 out of 5 stars Newly Crohn's diagnoised, November 13, 2008
This review is from: 100 Questions & Answers About Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis: A Lahey Clinic Guide (Paperback)
When I was very very sick and newly diagnosed with Crohn's, I needed information fast. This, more than any other book I ordered, was the most helpful and easiest to look up random questions as they came up. It was so helpful. I highly recommend it. Also, this is the only time I have used the next day delivery postage for a book and I am so glad I did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this book!, November 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I recently purchased this book after owning an older version and losing it. The format of this book is easy to follow and draws you in so you want to read the whole thing in one sitting. Very informative about all forms of IBD. The personal remarks also made this book one I would recommend to anyone who is newly diagnosed or in any stage of IBD. This is not a dry, hard to read book and addresses just about any question you can think of about IBD in an open and engaging manner. I will keep this forever and lend it out often. I was diagnosed with UC in 2008 and am now in remission, so with the pressure off, I can read this without being panicked and be more objective about each subject. I refer back to this often when I read something new about UC or meet someone new who has IBD and they have questions. There are also great suggestions as to how to approach your doctor with questions about treatment. I wish the authors were MY doctor!!
