Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

Certified financial planner and radio host Brown says that too many U.S. workers throw away thousands of dollars available through employers because of ignorance, laziness, or unwillingness to plan. Her 100 questions are structured by topic, from paycheck management to retirement, and reveal some pretty startling answers. Thirty-three percent of total compensation is in the form of benefits, for instance; and there is a job-loss-prevention tactic known as a severance savings plan but it is not widely publicized by corporations. Down-to-earth advice includes capitalizing on flexible savings accounts, checking on pension plan stability and safety, and figuring out not-ready-for-prime-time retirement. Very upbeat, understandable writing. Barbara Jacobs
