Hi everybody, I'm French and I live and work in Paris and I can tell you that in France M is the biggest rock star we have. He's really the best. I've seen him live in 2004 and it was a great show. If you know this album, there is a song on it called GIMMICK. So when he's on stage, he asks if anyone wants to join him on stage to play guitar and his own gimmick. It's really great, that night they played some Pink Floyd stuff.
QUI DE NOUS DEUX is really his best album but you can listen to his other albums too, especially LE TOUR DE M (double live album) and JE DIS AIME (his second album and his real breakthrough album in France).
If you want to listen to another great french artist, you can try the albums POST-PARTUM or LES INNOCENTS by the band LES INNOCENTS. They split in 2001 but these two albums are really good. Now the singer of this band, JP Nataf, has a solo album which won many awards in France.

I find it interesting that M is starting to get known in the US. I'm sure those who discovered him feel blessed. I personally don't like his studio work as much as his live performances. I strongly recommend purchasing "Le tour de M" available on DVD and CD (I recommend both, the setlists are different). I believe these can be found on amazon.fr.

If you've never heard of -M- before:

He's a rock superstar in France, but isn't well known around here, which is a shame, because -M- ROCKS. Awesome vocals, amazing guitar skills, crazy mixtures of funk/jazz/rock and boundless energy on this album really make you with you could be somewhere watching -M- jam out in a live performance.

This, -M-'s third and newest studio album, is a landmark in creative, adventurous pop/rock and will please you no matter what your musical tastes (unless you prefer polka and Gregorian plainchant).

I just heard about M about a month ago.. I was watching Bravo!videos Canada and this song poped up called "Les Triplettes de Bellevile" What chaught my attention was his hair, but the song sounded pretty cool to me. I only know a little bit of french but I really liked it. I tried so hard to find there website but I just couldn't. Well I finally found it and I heard some more of M's song's and then I fell in love with there music... I absolutly love M! Ya'll should cheak out there new song called "Qui de Nous Deux". Oh and anyone else who wants M's link its www.qui2nous2.com.

M is one of my favorite musicians in the world right now. I love his music and his voice and his stage presence is fabulous. My French is not very good so I don't always know what he's saying, but I still listen to the album, "Qui de Nous Deux" every day, usually the whole thing. My favorite songs are "A Tes Souhaits", "Qui De Nous Deux", and "Ma Melodie", which conviently, are all together in tracks 4,5, and 6.

This French dude is a true rock'n'roller who combines rock, jazz and exotic French style altogether perfectly.

-M- is the greatest guitarist I have heard in years! He's innovative, experimental & talented. He's insainly famous in Europe & Canada. Check out his live vids on Youtube. His music vids are all unique & totally off the wall. I have all his albums and his Tete-a-Tete DVD live show. It's well worth the money! He did a song with Sean Lennon called "L'eclipse". Take a listen, you will not be disappointed! I would give it 6 starts if the'd let me! [...]

-M-, Mathieu Chedid, is a super rock star in France, and with good reason -- this guy is terrific! This is a great album and just continues his creative genius.

I especially enjoy the songs "Qui de Nous Deux," "Mon Ego," and "Gimmick."

-M- makes the music work! His rhythms, his creativity, his alter-ego that bounces around while he's playing, are superb.

Even if you don't speak French (and I don't), you will no doubt love him. The language of music is universal, and -M- proves it. Highly recommended!

I heard this guy on a french website and I was hooked! HE was GREAT! I just hope that this is worth the 25$, is it???

hi guys! i dont know that what is the style of the M but its sure that its very funny but on the other hand its very serious and interesting! i could download the first 30seconds of all the songs but i dont know where to download the whole album! best song: psyko bug!!!! hii
