This review is from: The Quick-Fix Hangover Detox: 99 Ways to Feel 100 Times Better (Paperback)
References to homeopathic remedies are a red flag.
What else can I say? It's more like one person's quick lists of things that work for them. The preventative chapters -- reasons you shouldn't drink, which are very clear and quite succinct, are the book's only positive qualities.
Any science lover should understand why a book that touts homoepathic remedies should be taken with a grain of salt. The chapter on post-drinking steps mentions that one should avoid caffeine (a worthwhile tip), but suggests that one drinks peppermint tea -- without mentioning that one should be looking for non-caffeinated peppermint tea. The author suggests that one should drink "herbal" tea, as if to suggest that all herbal teas are decaf -- not so.
The author also praises dose after dose of acidic fruits in the pre/post drinking phases, while knocking other items for being acidic. All I can say is... what the hell, lady? Is this simply a case of mind over matter?
All I can say is, if you're looking for a book that gives you a quick chapter on reasons you shouldn't drink, I recommend it; otherwise, look elsewhere. There are better tomes to give you the skinny on how to handle your body before, during, and after drinking. This book is mostly herbal fluff.
