2.0 out of 5 stars Arrrrrgh! Table of Contents April 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Please, please, please reissue this with a full active Table of Contents. Yes, it's a short based on a larger book. But it's not a short short. It has important subheads which are virtually chapter titles. So some navigational guidance is possible. In fact, this is really too long to be useful as a quick reference without an active TOC. Fix that and this is 4 or 5 stars for the genre.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic and Concise April 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a very concise work drawing on Carson & Moo's Introduction to the New Testament. The information is essential and accessible, brought to us by two of the top New Testament scholars in the world. If you have ever wondered where the books of the New Testament came from, how they were transmitted to us, and how people have interpreted them over time, this is the first place for you to go. Everyone with an interest in Christianity should read this book!

I must allow that the lack of a table of contents and clearly delineated sub-sections does hurt this edition. I expected those features, as they would greatly enhance the usability of this short selection. That said, this is extremely concise. Give it a read and bookmark the sections you'll want to return to- it should take you less than an hour.

There are so many depths to the Word of God and it is a great insight and connector to the history and validity of what is written in the New Covenant message

I read this for a college course. It was very well written, but was completely over my head. Author was very educated and wrote a very educational book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Better to just jump in! August 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Get the "Todays New International Version" (TNIV) and a copy of "The Message". Start with Mark. He talks about doing stuff. Then read John 3 followed by John 15,16, and 17. Read in both versions. It will likely soak into your heart. From there you can go anywhere. Though I like Hebrews 11 and 12. "The Message" gives you a very relatable read, TNIV is very precise. God Bless You.
