The Quick Job Hunt Guide,
This review is from: The Quick Job Hunt Guide (Paperback)
Job hunting guides are a dime a dozen. Those that still matter after 20 years are rare indeed. Among the rarities the best, by far, is Robert Siedle's The Quick Job Hunt Guide, originally published in 1991.
The guidance offered there is if anything more valuable in today's tough job market. Offering far more than the usual addresses and simplistic advice, Mr Siedle's backgound as a corporate executive enables him to explain the psychological subtleties of a job hunt as well as offer nuts and bolts suggestions for those either out of a job or wishing to move up the ladder. Especially enlightening are the chapters one :Networking," "Two Major Do Not's," and the invaluable "Ten-Day Plan." Reader satisfaction high over the years is likely to increase markedly in the current economy!

This book is simple to understand and straight to the point. Speaking as a wife whose husband just lost his job, we both found this book to be a godsend. There are no hidden gimmicks, no silly suggestions, and no double-speak...just honest, straightforward good information that you can use RIGHT NOW! I highly recommend this book for anyone who is in the job market, or looking to move on to something even better. It's the tops!

I especially like the section on "Do Not's" Use this book. It works.

I came across this book after seeing the author's film, THE WIDE WORLD of WORK, and I'm glad I did because this at last is a job hunt book that cuts right to the chase instead of philosophizing about life, finding yourself, etc. All the personalized tools are there. I liked the fact that you can read this book in one sitting and begin your job search immediately and the book is compact enough to carry with you as a ready reference.A good investment for a few bucks. My only question is why didn't the author write another business book, or did he?
