This book is a strong tool in learning how to listen to others.I think it will hit some of you right between the eyes.It puts a strong hold on the scipture James 1:19.I think as christians we ought to learn in order to save someone we have to love and listen to them. This book has already helped me in many areas involving me and my big mouth. It has tought me that the more I speak the more I mess my self up.

Quick To Listen, Slow To Speak,
By Michael Taylor "Michael Taylor" (Indian Trail NC) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Quick to Listen, Slow to Speak (Mass Market Paperback)
"Quick To Listen, Slow To Speak" has an obvious theme - talk less and listen more! You would think that with 2 ears and 1 mouth, we would know this, but often we act otherwise. Fisher's title is a great reminder of the need to be quiet.
Among the points covered include: 1. Thinking before you speak. 2. Speaking the truth in love. 3. You can disagree with someone, just don't get involved in arguments. 4. Control your response - watch that temper and tendency to speak too quickly! 5. Confess your faults to one another. 6. Forgive others as God has forgiven us. 7. Be careful not to nag. 8. Let God take vengeance as He sees fit. A great little book that can easily be read in 2-3 sittings (about 1-2 hours total). Read, enjoy, and listen more. Recommended.

The concepts put forth in this book are not earth shattering theology. They are simple principles taught in Scripture, expounded in a very engaging manner. Principles that are seldom really practiced in our day to day interactions with other people. This book deals much of what comes out of our mouth, and I believe the title is rather self-explanitory.
This would be an excellent book to use in Bible studies at home or at Church, and if you were to follow the principles established in this book, you would see your life revolutionized (a word I do not use lightly).

This book is a book for anyone who is interested in developing sound interpersonal relationships. This is a read not once but a read ongoing throughout life. The examples and advice in a biblical sense yet not overly religious in any way.
