This review is from: Quick Parchment Greetings Cards (Greetings Cards series) (Paperback)
"Quick Parchment Greeting Cards" is basically an instruction book on how to make greeting cards using the Mini Shapeboss base with the Fiskars Parchamoré crafting system which consists of: two sets of three-step stencils (a bow and a rose); an embossing tool; a perforating tool; a combined perforating and embossing mat; a white pencil; parchment paper; cards and envelopes.
These tools are more easily found in Europe, Australia, and South America than they are in North America, but I was able to assemble a kit from several different internet sources. Why bother? This book plus the above tools are an easy way to learn embossing, stippling, perforating, and coloring parchment greeting cards. The two drawbacks: if you don't purchase the tools that go with this book, you are better off learning parchment craft from another book such as: Pergamano Parchment Craft (Step-by-Step Crafts) or Parchment Craft (Country Crafts) ; the second drawback is that there aren't very many stencil sets that are made for the Mini Shapeboss base. In this book, Janet Wilson shows several variations using the bow, bonnet, snowflake, rose, heart, and butterfly stencil sets. I've also found a corner/border stencil, but there really aren't many out there. The Fiskars Parchamoré crafting system comes with a `Techniques and Ideas' booklet that you can use to get started in parchment craft, and that goes over much the same ground as this book, so you might not even need "Quick Parchment Greeting Cards."

Fiskars Parchamore!,
By Love To Read Tee "Toni5" (Allen, Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Quick Parchment Greetings Cards (Greetings Cards series) (Paperback)
This book has the wrong title, it should be called Fiskars Parchamore because that's what it is calling Quick Parchament. Now it is a good book for the Fiskars Craft, if you have the Fiskars parchamore set already, it will give you additional projects to do with the same set. And this is a good thing because the set on comes with a book that gives you a few projects and that's it.
But is you don't already have this system, it will be a little hard to obtain since it's rarely carried in the market place. You can however still purchase it on-line directly from Fiskars.

I have most of the tools mentioned in this book and now I can use them. I like playing with the parchment paper. It adds elegance to my projects.
