5.0 out of 5 stars Very Helpful
This is a great book. The section on action steps is fantastic. Helps you have confidence in giving homework to people before the next session.

1.0 out of 5 stars There are better books than this one
Counseling techniques devoid of theory are nothing more than a smorgasbord approach ... "If this one doesn't work, I'll just try another one." Before one can intervene, one MUST HAVE a solid theoretical orientation that drives the approach to counseling. This book is long on pragmatics, but very short on theory. THIS IS A DANGEROUS APPROACH!!! Why? because what do you...

I am a new Christian counselor at my church, I am taking the courses through the AACC in which Tim Clinton is the president of. This guide is a great quick reference in which I'm sure I will be using a lot. There is such a nice range of issues also.

Why? because what do you do when the technique(s) don't work? Theory leads to case conceptualization that drives treatment planning and intervention. A better choice is Jones & Butman's Modern Psychotherapies.

I received my order well within the times stated and received the book I had requested in new condition as was advertised. I will look forward in doing buisiness with this person again and recommend him to all book seekers.
