Book Description

June 1, 1991
Quick Reference cards provide accurate, concise boating information when and where you need it most.

* They are great for all types of boaters from weekend day sailors to offshore cruisers and professional mariners.

* Printed in full color on weatherproof high strength plastic, 8.5" x 11" three-hole cards are impervious to conditions at sea which quickly destroy laminated paper references.

* The widely used Quick Reference Navigation Rules, now in its 6th edition is a proven navigation tool which has been in use by the U.S. Coast Guard, USCG Auxiliary, U.S. Power Squadrons, and thousands of recreational boaters and professional mariners for nearly two decades.

* Inland and international rules (COLREGS - Regulations for the Prevention of Collision at Sea) including right-of way, lights, and sound signals, and the U.S. Buoyage system are all included in a concise, accurate and graphically pleasing format which is easy to understand and use, quickly when you need them most, on deck in the wheelhouse or cockpit.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"The number of boats being registered in U.S. waters is increasing at a rate of about one half million new boats each year. The complexity of safely navigating a vessel in U.S. waters is readily apparent. There can be no doubt that a thorough knowledge of the rules of the nautical road is needed by all mariners. But the rules are many-faceted and easy to forget when not used often - even by experienced mariners - let alone the casual boater. The Quick Reference Navigation Rules meets the need for a readily accessible guide to the rules of the road when quick and correct decisions must be made to effect safe passage between vessels. It offers the mariner a complete, precise, accurate, readily accesible, durable and easy-to-read reference to the COLREGS and Inland Rules." -- Commnder Bassett - US Navy ret. - is the author of Farwell's Rules of the Nautical Road, the classic mariner's reference.

This 8 1/2" x 11" weatherproof heavy duty plastic card is a perfect quick reference for any boater. 3.0 out of 5 stars Great info but not so great structuraly, May 4, 2009
This review is from: Quick Reference Navigation Rules (Misc. Supplies)
Concise information, sometimes too concise, but gives the basics on front and back of one sheet.
I have put it into my sailing bag, have taken it out twice, and already the clear cover is trying to separate at the corner.
Needs to be built a little more durable than it is
