This updated Third Edition of the best-selling pocket guide has been expanded to include some significant new information when compared to previous editions. The color-codes tables of recommendations now contain a listing of 16 representative protective barriers including trade names materials against approximately 600 chemicals of interest. These barrier listings now include glove, boot, and suit material of construction. The recommendations presented in the guide are based on near 11,000 permeation and over 3,000 degradation test data compiled and evaluated by Krister Forsberg. All these data are published the 2nd edition of Wiley's Chemical Protective Clothing Performance Book.

This guide is divided into seven major sections. The section of color coded recommendations is organized numerically by chemical class under the ASTM F-1186, Guide for Classification of Chemicals According to Functional Groups. The Chemical Index section, contains the Chemical Class Numbers, Chemical Names and Synonyms, chemical abstract service (CAS) numbers, Risk Codes, and special "skin" and "caution" notations. The Pocket Guide is an essential field guide for spill responders, safety engineers, industrial hygienist, chemists and chemical engineers, purchasing agents, salespeople, and workers of all industries.

The Third Edition of Quick Selection Guide to Chemical Protective Clothing is a pocket guide to the selection of protective clothing. An entirely new feature in the Third Edition is a new section that includes the names, addresses, and phone numbers of the suppliers and manufacturers of the chemical protective clothing materials featured.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a good, easy to use quick reference guide with many applications for multiple disciplines. This is useful for those 0430 in the morning calls when clear and concise information is what is needed. It does not replace a good personal protection equipment program or selection of purchase of equipment however it does put your data in a single place for quick reference.
