5.0 out of 5 stars A Truly Quality Source for Medical Spanish, June 15, 2006
By
This review is from: Quick Spanish for Emergency Responders: Essential Words and Phrases for Firefighters, Paramedics, and EMT's (Paperback)
I have been practicing for many years and have long looked for a practical, straight-forward, and sufficiently-broad source for effective communication in medical Spanish. David Dees' "Quick Spanish for Emergency Responders" IS this source. The best aspect of this succinct book is that essential medical questions and communication skills pertinent to hospital, clinical, and emegent care are carefully delineated.

This book, more than a simple reference, continues to provide me efficient suggestions for usefully and quickly communicating in Spanish with my patients. I highly recommend it to health care workers who would benefit from this skill but who do not necessarily have time for multiple Spanish courses. This is top notch.

4.0 out of 5 stars This book saves lives, June 1, 2006
This review is from: Quick Spanish for Emergency Responders: Essential Words and Phrases for Firefighters, Paramedics, and EMT's (Paperback)
There have been so many Spanish self-help books over the years. They usually end up on the coffee table. Quick Spanish is just the right size to take into the field and easy to look up phrases.
I only wish I had it earlier in my career. Living in California, I have to be able to communicate with the people I am helping. I know it sounds corny, but I have even opened it up looked up a phrase and then communicated..
