Too Basic, Too General,
By Antonio Caram (Rochester, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Quick Tips for Better Business Writing (Paperback)
This book was disappointing. I decided to buy it after reading some very interesting comments from Mr. Blake in a recent Wall Street Journal article. It just so happens that the WSJ article was much better than the book, which is too simple, too general, and too vague on its "quick tips". There is much more emphasis on "quick" rather than "tips". An actual example: I may not be the best of writers but I don't need a book to tell me that I should "organize logically" (tip 22-1) my text. I was expecting better and more actionable ideas - not vague, ground zero guidelines.
