He embraces the naturopathic philosophy of health and has dedicated his life to teaching the principles of preventive medicine. He received his BS in zoology from the University of Michigan and his MD from Wayne State University School of Medicine. Dr. Don and his wife, Susan, have four children.

30 Quick Tips for Better Health is a small book packed with tips to help improve and maintain your spiritual, emotional and physical health. Each chapter focuses on one aspect of healthy living, such as diet, exercise, rest, etc., and provides information, scripture references and suggestions for changes that will enhance your life. Verhulst asserts in the first chapter that God’s Word is our Owner’s Manual and is the foundation for anyone looking for improvement and change. And while I believe this to be true, I do not agree with all of the connections Verhulst makes between scripture and physical health. Containing interesting food for thought, it is a bit heavy on prosperity gospel. I know many people who live healthy lifestyles, along with a vibrant faith life, and still suffer from illness. Unfortunately, we live in a fallen world with all the attendant evils, including sickness. The tips he shares are good, but do not ensure a disease-free life. Read this book with a dose of skepticism and the Bible at your side.

I really liked this book. I really liked the chapter about sleeping better and the chapter about letting go of anger. This is a short book that packs a punch. A good punch. After each chapter there is a prayer and a space to write down how you are going to try and change. This is a great book to keep in your purse or anywhere really to give yourself inspiration when you need it. I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy to review from booketeria, however all opinions are my own.

30 Quick Tips for Better Health by Dr. Don Verhulst outlines 30 tips to bring you ideas for taking better care of your health. The author is a teacher, ordained minister, speaker and hosts a television program Hope for Your Health. He uses principles of God's Word to share many healthy lifestyle choices. He covers topics on what to eat, drink, how to exercise, improving memory, get better sleep, emotional health and how to prevent certain diseases. He begins each chapter with a Bible verse and simple tip. He shares a way to make a change, a prayer and section to write down how you will make that change today.

I really enjoyed this quick read with a surprising number of new thoughts about how to make better choices for my health. He shared many good scientific facts regarding sleep, exercise, heart disease, cancer, water, vitamins and foods from the Bible. He also gave some yummy recipes that I want to try. This book has so many wonderful ideas and I like that they are broken into 30 short segments. Read one every day for a month. The key to this book is to make the change. The section to make notes is highly important to making a lasting change. I also like the Bible verses for each chapter that really focused on what God desires for our health. I plan to keep this little book very handy as I go about my day and I know that I will start making changes to make my health better so I can live the full life that God has planned for me. Start your journey today too!

The book was a quick, easy read. Don VerHulst breaks down every aspect of a healthy life. I only gave it 3 stars because I'm not one for religion.
