I love this camera. I bought it to replace my built in cam on my laptop because that one was crappy. This one has a beautiful picture compared to the other one. I love skyping now!

This item is advertised online by both the manufacturer/ seller and Amazon online as being a PC/ Mac compatible 70P HD Webcam and its not even capable of recording at DVD levels of resolution (640X436). I tried to get in contact with the seller (PCGearHead.Com) about the issue thinking that there maybe some setting I was unable to access in order to set the resolution at 720P level but there is no such option available to do so and I expressed my concerns with the representative over the phone and asked that my concerns be addressed or escalated to someone who could clarify this clear violation of US consumer laws. No one up to this time has contacted me about this issue and I have to say I can NOT recommend anyone buy this item or any other item from PCGearHead's inventory based on this experience. A video review of this issue and others are available on my last podcast show online at Ustream.TV, just lookup vrpcworld (me) and it should be episode #4 of my TechRant Live show. Will update this issues status good or bad as needed both online on my show and if I can here on this forum when someone from PCGearHead.Com contacts me about it clarifying anything about this, until then DON'T BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE ANYTHING!

I know 5 star ratings are somewhat hackneyed and sometimes the reviews that follow them are cliche ("WORKS GREAT!"), but this thing really is a great bargain. I compared it to cameras with a similar feature set, and this one was a good $10-$20 less than comparable webcams. While the FPS rate could be better, the picture and video quality is fair enough. The mic doesn't pic up sound as well as I'd like it to, but I stand by my opinion in that this is the best cam in it's price tier.
Were it not for the fact that frame rate info is not readily made available, and for the stand being a little rickety when mounting the camera, I would give it 5 stars. It's an excellent product, it's affordable, and it even arrived early, but my gripes remain with it's base and lack of publicized detailed specs. Still, I'd recommend this in a heartbeat!

NOT REAL HD, NOT REAL HD, NOT REAL HD.
It has the pixel count (if you tweak the resolution) but it defaults to near the lowest setting every time you turn it on and there's no way to change the default. Read more

Mac compatible- for the price you cant beat it

Great Camera
Great camera for the cost! Has great lighting even in a low lit room and the lights are def a help when in a dark room.

Camera review

Frame rate very slow
