We had a moderate problem with flies breeding in the garbage can and then getting into the house and buzzing around. Sprinkled a very small amount of Quick Bayt on top of garbage already in can. Within seconds half a dozen flies lifted off stinky garbage and settled onto the bait. Only fed on bait for a few seconds, but as another reviewer pointed out, that's all it takes. 90 seconds later a fly perched on the rim of the can and started to twitch. 30 seconds later that fly flopped into the dirt and lay there. I've never seen anything like it, other than catching a fly in the blast of an aerosol spray--and this stuff will get 'em without you having to find 'em and Flit 'em. You, too, can laugh like a mad scientist: "Die, Fly, Die!"

Quik Bayt kills more flys than any other product that I've tried. I've used fly traps, sprays, automatic sprayers but nothing works like Quik Bayt. I just sprinkle some in with the horses and there are piles of dead flies. The best part is that the goat and dogs are not attracted to it and so I don't worry about them getting sick.

UPDATE:
Previously I tried a 'test' spot or two where I could see the pellets. No flies were seen on or near the product. That was then...
This year, I decided to spread it all around the house rather then letting it sit on a shelf.
It worked!!! How, I do not know.. but it did.
For the first time in years, we've been able to enjoy a pleasant meal outside in the beautiful weather without those pesky flies - not one!
Mea culpa for the previous review.
Try it, spread everywhere - it does work!

ORIGINAL:
We live in a normal neighborhood of homes. No farms or other fly-friendly habitats nearby.
However, for some strange reason, when we go out on our open patio, within minutes we have flies everywhere.
Before I build a screened in porch, I decided to give this product a try.
I sprinkled the tiny pellets around the area both near the patio and farther away around the yard. I chose a few spots I could easily watch whenever I looked outside.
I never once saw a fly on the product, nor did the fly population noticeably diminish.
I'll try again starting in the spring, but I'm looking at contractors in the meantime.

I was hoping to reduce my fly population - not provide a meeting place for flies! Sure, it is lethal, but it doesn't entice the flies to taste. The flies are attracted by the attractant and then they hang around and swap phone numbers. Very few of the cloud of flies that were attracted to the site actually tasted the poison. Sticky traps work just as well, and I don't have to worry about secondary poisoning.

This is advertised as a product to use in barns, etc. But, I used it to control the flies and their MAGGOTS (yuck) that I used to have in my outdoor trash cans in summer. I just sprinkle Quick Bayt into the cans on top of the trash. Problem solved.

I live in San Diego, this doesn't work at all.

I put a large plate full of the stuff where we had a fly problem, and the flies didn't even look at the plate.

I'm not a big fan of using chemicals and poisons, I usually go with an all-natural product when possible. But this product did work for me when I was desperate to find a fix for a fly problem near my pool. I applied it according to the instructions around the pool, and over a few hours watched approximately 40 flies land, eat, and turn belly-up.
Not sure if this product would be suitable for those with pets or children; I noticed it also attracted and poisoned other animals such as roaches and lizards.
One other problem is that it melted when wet (from the pool water or during a rain), and the coloring stained the pool deck. Would like to find the same product without artificial color if it would still be as effective.

I was very leary about buying this product after reading reviews. 6 weeks ago I was in a local feed store and asked about the product was surprised when no one had tried it. Took a chance and gave it a try. I mixed with water and painted it on some of the screen on my porch. WOW watched flies start dying like crazy, had to sweep dead flies every morning for about 10 days. I now sprinkle on a paper plate you can't help but watch them die. They go nuts looks like their break dancing.
